Have to say that this one really grew on me. I was a "bring back Tom" purist when this came out and it totally slanted my view. I would prefer Tom back and more Neighborhoods style albums, but if it never happens, I'd be completely fine with this lineup continuing. Hope the next one is more California and less NINE as this one's way better. The pandemic definitely accelerated the 2016-2019 nostalgia.

I used to only know "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" as well as "Enema of the State" - until this year's Feburary. "California" has been growing on me ever since; and as much as it kind of hurts my eight year old self - I don't mind this album ruling my blink-182 charts at all. Nothing but hits on this record (except for the joke songs).

Well, I don't hate Calfornia, but you have to admit that being better then Nine is not that big of an accomplishment.

This album doesn't really hold up at all. I like "The Only Thing That Matters", "Cynical" and "Rabbit Hole" though.

don't understand why everyone hates on this so much. it's far better than neighbourhoods and their self-titled imho.

I agree with Archbunburyist. Neighbourhoods was so boring... They have finally found their catchyness again.

I think this is a good album that's hated on too much but definitely not better than Neighborhoods and certainly not the untitled album. Neighborhoods had much better direction and dynamic to its sound, even if it sounded a lot like Tom was trying to fuse AVA in. This album often falls to cliches that just don't work, Travis' drumming generally loses its power, and Matt Skiba's songwriting ability is criminally unused...making this mostly the Mark Hoppus Show.

This record in the end just shows without Tom you still have the poppy side of blink, but you lose most of the experimental side. The combination of those two sides were what made their music so unique.

I guess we all just love blink for different reasons, cause I can hardly listen to this record.

a mix between the TOYPAJ and the self-titled, this record is so good, one of the best of this decade.

This album is fucking fantastic; I was devastated when I found out that Tom was no longer with the band. I had very low hopes for the "new" blink-182 but I've fallen in love all over again. Favorite songs are in this order: Los Angeles > Cynical > Left Alone > No Future > Sober > The Only Thing That Matters > She's Out Of Her Mind > San Diego

This sounds like old Blink mixed with 5SOS/ATL thanks to Feldmann's production but I'd take this over Tom's arena rock influences that were present in the last two releases. I've been enjoying this album quite a lot lately and Matt is a good replacement for Tom since he can at least sing properly.

@Digit-X - my thoughts exactly regarding Tom. His songwriting and general performance has been absolutely all over the place (starting with self-titled) and he just made no attempt to be congruous with blink's sound (see Snake Charmer). Skiba is a great substitution, one of the best in recent memory. That being said, I think the songs could have been much stronger, and I would have liked to see what the band could have come up with without the help of Feldmann, at least on a few songs. Feldmann's touch is just too heavy on the whole record.

Without being a huge fan of the new album ... relating to your ''Ouuuhhh Ohhhh Ouuuhhh''-quote EVERY blink-album has to be valuated as pretty mediocre ;).
