Biography
At the age of fourteen, Corijn first set fingers on his father’s acoustic guitar. Until he had reached the age of eighteen, he practiced at a constant average of 6 hours a day in the attic at his parents’ house. Strongly influenced by the finger picking techniques of Nick Drake, Chet Atkins, Marcel Dadi, John Mayer and others, he quickly taught himself various styles both in classical as well as folk music. By the time Corijn had reached twenty, he had won the national singer/songwriter competition Nootuitgang, subsequently releasing his debut EP In the Meadow in November 2009. In 2010, Corijn completed his tour visiting all cultural centers of universities throughout the Netherlands.
He has or will be performing at Vera Groningen, Stukafest Groningen & Utrecht, Uitmarkt Groningen, Body & Soul Festival Nijmegen, Eurosonic, ‘Skek Amsterdam, Popronde 2010, Bevrijdingsfestival Groningen, Zwarte Cross, and many other locations. The Grace of Haze and In the Meadow both reached the top 5 of the Radio Oog top 40.
Corijn studies Philosophy and Communication and Information Sciences at the University of Groningen.
