Self titled album starry cat was a project recorded and written by Sam Ray, who is most notorious for Teen Suicide and Ricky Eat Acid. The album was produced during the hiatus and break he took from the studio sessions of his other alias, known as Julia Brown, an indie pop band named after a band member.
The album was originally supposed to be secretive and scarce, only selling copies of it at the Julia Brown shows since some of the tracks on there at the time were planned to become Julia Brown songs later on.
But that would immediately change when their viola player & singer Caroline got sick and had to go through multiple surgeries soon, as a result Sam decided to release the album in hopes that many people would purchase it off of their band-camp and make enough money to help fund her surgeries, so anytime someone purchased it, all of the money would directly go to Caroline's PayPal.
Eventually Caroline’s surgeries were successfully paid off and done. If you still would like to help support them, You can visit their band-camp here and buy the album.
