Biography
Swanston is made up of Grice Peters (Lead vocals, guitars) Jim Peters (Keys, flute, vocals) and Dave Costello (Bass, vocals) and was formed in Devon, UK.
Swanston take their name from a dilapidated but much loved Georgian mansion in deepest Devon. This is where much of the band's early material was written and recorded, including their stunning concept album 'Glorious Swanston'. This was recorded in one mammoth session!
Grice's song writing deals with personal themes such as loss, separation and the exquisite joy of love and each song is a sting to the heart. These themes are enriched by his brother Jim's arrangements and the trios tight harmonies. You can clearly see such classic influences as The Kinks, The Finn Brothers (Crowded House) and CSNY in the Swanston sound, but they have a unique sound that has originality to stand alone.
Swanston's line-up of moving vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards and bass form a unique sonic blend of texture, colour and passion.
