actually john’s second verse being so short is perfect, i think it might be the key to why this song still feels fresh every time you come back to it. a lesser band would’ve balanced them out but john’s first verse being so long and second verse being so short is some golden ratio type of thing, the song’s secret lies somewhere in there

Even the simple act of pronouncing the title of this song is more than enough to give me gooseflesh. [2]

as incredible as the entire thing is, how do we feel about john's second verse being so short? it feels so good to come back to it, but it's gone in an instant

This songs lives up the hype and then some, spine chilling performance from John. One of the first "greatest songs" of all time

I find myself singing Paul's part all the time! "Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head..."

My mom listened to a lot of Beatles, but mostly early Beatles, like up to Rubber Soul. I remember buying Sgt Pepper on CD on a whim since a place was going out of business - got to this song and when Paul's part came on asked her amazedly "Is this the same song?!" Been my favorite Beatles song ever since!
