Blackened scenecore is a fusion genre that originated from ancient Norway and combines black metal, mathcore and progressive trance. Earliest forms of this genre were created by the band Bumzur, however, blackened scenecore would not have a huge following until VerbalRazors would release their cult debut album "VerbalRazors does not approve". The "big four" of blackened scenecore are VerbalRazors, Sc3neCoRe, Into Uranus and The Demon Burger.

Later pioneers of blackened scenecore would give birth to new genres during their carreer - Into Uranus would combine major electronic elements in their music and would spawn the progressive powernoise genre. The Demon Burger, known for their complex song structures and unbelieavably technical riffs, took the genre to a whole new level and would eventually pioneer what is now known as "technical blackened scenecore".
