A radio edit, also known as a clean, single or censored version, is an edited version of a song usually meant for radio airplay or, since the 1990s, for an edited version of an album. As radio censorship is required for most terrestrial radios by law, radio edits are often made for these stations. They can also exist for satellite radios, but are less common as satellite radios are regulated differently and are allowed to air profanities.
