There's a big difference between j-metal and real metal band from Japan.[2] The difference is that vk bands are actually talented instead of shit japanese metal bands who insert whiny idol voices in the middle of the songs.

Not everything Jap is crap, But the majority of these bands are mainly Vk bands before being into Metal, don't judge if you don't know how to appreciate another genre of music !

j-tags are inevtiably a disappointment as the visual kei fans don't understand the difference between j-rock and j-metal. In principle, such j-tags are useful if you're interesed in discovering new bands of a particulary genre from a country such as Japan. Unfortunately in practise it's ruined by poor tagging..

Japanese metal doesn't fully differ from the rest of the world's metal, since they all folow similar musical techniques. Loudness, Anthem and Seikima-II take big influence from New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, as an example. As for that "j-metal" tag, it itself is a joke since you'll find here bunch of generic vk, at the very most. Because averagely, visual key kids don't even know what metal is ;]

"Why is J-Anything crap? It's really useful being able to identify specifically Japanese metal bands." Why would does it matter if its japanese or not?
