In 1949, Robert Arthur Moog started to produce theremins. Roberts urge to adapt the theremin, and his contact with experimental musicians of the ‘musique concrete’ like Pierre Schaeffer, eventually led to one of the first modular synthesizers. In 1970, he produced his first integral synthesizer: the minimoog.
