Nintendocore refers to two styles of music:
1. Nintendocore (also known as bitcore) is a broadly defined style of music that most commonly fuses chiptune with metalcore, post-hardcore and cybergrind. The genre is sometimes considered a direct subgenre of post-hardcore, and it is often very closely paired with Electronicore or Trancecore
2. Nintendocore (also known as video game rock, nintendo rock and video game metal) is a term for rock bands who do video game covers or are video game cover bands. Artists include The Advantage, The Megas, Kirby's Dream Band, Entertainment System and more. It sometimes includes the original composers of covering their own songs (such as Nobuo Uematsu's groups The Black Mages and Earthbound Papas). The first band to do cover a video game song was indie rock band Autoclave with their cover of Paper Boy.
