Video Game Metal (also known as Nintendocore) is simply the soundtracks to video-games remixed/covered by artists playing them in a heavy metal style. The actual style of metal ranges and can vary from one extreme to another, but the most common interpretations take a power metal or thrash metal approach. Very popular artists in the genre include Powerglove, Stemage (Metroid Metal), and the Brazilian natives Megadriver. This genre will sometimes include the original composers of covering their own songs (such as Nobuo Uematsu's groups The Black Mages and Earthbound Papas) or are sometimes tracks from games themselves.
