Yep, In Flames is definitely working for me :D Cheers for that. I decided not to go with Nu Metal as I recall that from about 10 years or so ago when it was trendy... to me it seems a little limited? (or is that just my memory?). I'm not finding Last.fm particularly helpful atm as it seems to have gone a bit the way of Apple's Genius (which I abhor with a passion) and groups things by trends. E.g., I quite like Fightstar (haha), so it suggests I go emo... :s xx

Thanks. Someone else suggested Megadeth. I have no idea about any of this, but I will now go on a voyage of discovery. x

Hi Adam (God of Metal). I have a request... Can you enlighten me as to some bands which play heavy, melodic, and above all, ANGRY metal music? I like Drowning Pool, this may be a start... I'm so lost, out of my usual dnb comfort zone (hah!) your input would be most appreciated! Ta Muchly xxxxx

It wouldn't let me take leadership of that group for some reason, don't think that many people use last.fm in the fringe anyway though :P

Well, to be honest ZZ Top are probably more legendary... I think I was being a little facetious... Haha I've seen Hawkwind and they were rubbish, though I wasn't exactly aware of their back catalogue in advance so it wasn't really a disappointment. Their dancers were amusing though.

You've really seen limp bizkit live? That's legendary! Or was it recently? lol. And congrats on over 400 artists in your library, Adam :D

I am amazed to see that you have only 389 artists in your library! Makes your play counts look sooooooo much healthier than mine though...

Hey there, thanks for the recommendation! As I do enjoy aural sex I've added it to my list, will let you know when I acquire it. I'm doing good thanks - landed a good job and should be moving in to a new place very soon hopefully. How about yourself? FB says you're a master of physics, congratulations! So what now, the 'real world'?

been swapping music tips with some of my EBM friends... not massively inspired, but motivated me to point you in the direction of [artist]Noisia[/artist], [artist]Spor[/artist] and last but not least [artist]Evol Intent[/artist] for a bit of drum and bass neurofunk darkstep madness... unless of course you already listen to them.... xx

MaSu were so brilliant - check out my review for the setlist and stuff! I hear you on the revision front though, not in the library but trying to motivate myself at home. Easter was the same, revision the whole time apart from the trip to Helsinki. When are you completely finished then?! Cheers for checking out Soulcage, let me know what you think.

Hey man, how's it going? I think you should check out this band Soulcage, they supported MaSu when we went to see them in Helsinki (who, btw, were AWESOME). Anyway we're in contact with the band trying to get them a bit more heard, so I'd appreciate it if you could give them a listen (go for 'Soul for Sale') and maybe throw a few tags on :-) They play melodic metal with progressive influences, it's good stuff!

Aidan was saying that the fringe needed guests to actually get some goth stuff played. I emailed te soc about it but what would you actually need? 80's, black metal, electronic stuff, manson/jack off jill and the like or just a mix of all of that?

Hey thanks Adam its James Fielder. Sadly im not Mikael Akerfeldt from the picture. :( You do seem to have very similar taste in music to me - I can only see 3 (out of 15) from your first page of artists that I havn't listened to. You've also succeeded in making me want to listen to a bit of Dimmu Borgir now - I havn't lheard them for ages. I've only got Puritanical Euphorical Misanthropia, which of their other albums would you recommend i get next? I'll have to come on here more oftern and find some more music I like. P.S. Ive got two 20min slots at the willow next week, so if theres any songs you want me to play just give me another shout

well, it's normally portrayed as all drinking, sex & partying and barely any work gets done, ever. Well, it's really not like that at all. Yes, there are some exceptions, some universitys have more partys than others, but it's mainly more work/studying going on than anything. But at the same time, you have to have fun, so yes, there is plenty of partying to. But really, every university is different. Hope that answers your question a bit.

That's what Ollie says so I'm inclined to believe it. It is hard to filter out the really brutal bands that are actually good from just the really brutal ones. Mortician is quite amusing, and !T.O.O.H! has some decent material on their Order And Punishment. I'm also a fan of Anal Bleeding's "The Smell Of Hot Shit" from their classic album "Two Cocks In The Same Hole".

I've just started my first listen of 'When Dream And Day Unite' right now, so I can't give you a totallu unbias answer! Otherwise I would say my favourites are probably Systematic Chaos, SFAM and perhaps Train Of Thought. Octavarium is definitely my favourite song they've done, though 6DOIT also blows me away every time, brilliant stuff! Which ones have you listened to?

Hmm, while you may have listened to a lot more tracks by your top bands than I have, my artist library is nearly double the size of yours; yes, it's a competition. Also, I'm very disappointed to see Iron Maiden as your top band. Get out. I didn't know you liked Machinae Supremacy so much? I'm not sure I've heard you ever play a song of theirs on the Willow nights?

Haha, I noticed that too! Though Maiden have pulled a fair way away for you - mine are still very closely tied. I'm on a Dream Theater binge at the moment - so much good stuff there! Just bought 6DOIT and Train Of Thought; only need WDADU now to finish them off. What you into at the moment?
