No problem. The main man, Mark Kozelek, from RHPs also formed a band called Sun Kil Moon which is good as well. Another great American band which I don't know if you've heard from that period is American Music Club; it's a different, faster kind of rock music, but they're great as well. Their albums "Engine", "Everclear" and above all "California" are excellent.

Well, this is the one I was referring to: http://www.last.fm/music/Red+House+Painters/Red+House+Painters But also "Down Colorful Hill" is very good. It's slo-core (like a band called Low), so it's not chirpy, feel-good music. Which is why I like it so much :)

Thanks for the add! Speaking of recommendations, do you like Red House Painters? I'm listening to it now. The untitled/so-called "rollercoaster" album of theirs is awesome.

Well, I know some bands on your top list but they're not my favourite. Actually, I don't know what's that "Mubi" but I'm going to check this out. I'm using Filmweb. It's polish website about movies where you can rate them and talk about them.

Maybe you should try to rewatch them? They're both great so I think that you should do it. Unfortunately, due to the length of Satantango I haven't seen the whole thing. Maybe 2/3h out of 7h. Anyway I still own the movie so I'll try to rewatch it. But there's a problem with long movies that I don't like to watch a movie like a series but I can't watch it 7h straight as well. I guess that Werckmeister Harmonies would be the best choice as for 1st Tarr movie. You should also check: The Damnation, Almanach of Fall and Turin Horse. They're great movies too. Don't you think that it is quite odd that we're talking about movies on music portal? :)

And how did you like them? My first Bergman film was "Seventh Seal" - a truly great movie as well as director. It is said that Persona is the hardest Bergman movie(hardest to understand I guess) but I find it full of metaphors and possible interpretations which makes it magnificent. Make sure to watch Werckmeister Harmonies. If you like Tarkowski I don't think that you might find this film boring(as many people do). It consists of only 33 shots(for 2,5h movie!) and each one is perfect. I recommend it without doubt.

You're right. It's from Werckmeister Harmonies - my favourite movie. It's directed by Bela Tarr, indeed. And here's rest: Oldboy(Chan-wook Park, 2003), The Elephant Man(David Lynch, 1980), Autumn Sonata and The Silence which you know, Schindler's List(Steven Spielberg, 1993), Pianist by Roman Polański which you've recognised and the last one: Shutter Island(Martin Scorsese, 2010). Yesterday I saw Persona and it only ensured me that Bergman is one of the best directors(if not the best). As for now I've seen 6 Bergman movies and I'm going to see more(hopefully tonight). I'm also a movie fan but I've seen only 600+ movies so far so I'm not a hardcore one. :D

Hello good sir. I'm interested in the names of the movies listed on the right(pictures). I recognise Stalker, Nostalghia, Seventh Seal, Persona and The Passion of Joan D'Arc but other pictures remain unknown for me. Could you write down names of these movies, please? BTW: On my profile you can also find some pictures from movies. Feel free to ask the names. And finally: Are you a big movie fan as I am?

Sorry, I never noticed your post about Mad Men on my shoutbox. Yeah, I really like Mad Men. Kind of upset I'll have to wait until March or April of 2012 for season 5.
