Hi Elke (insert vulcan salute here), how are you? Definitely you've to see photos of Guadalajara and around, I think you'll like it. It is very popular, but specially the beaches and summer destinations, and Mexico City, you know, for being big and chaotic. I live just in the heart of Guadalajara. Well, let me think a good ones. Listen Size, the first post-punk mexican band (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dZH8__hxLM); Jorge Reyes, who mixed ambient with prehispanic sounds (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1ZNacIYvu0); and this weirdo guys, my fellas, noisy and disonant lo-fi (https://doblebo.bandcamp.com/releases).

You've a very cool taste: Pavement, Cure, Valentine, YLT. (Almost) congratulations for thirteen years here.

Yes, like Thom Yorke said: The best you can is good enough... Evidently, this verse is not for the new staff of Lastfm. I hate the Spotify tags, obviously is cool, but that part I don't like anything. Even in the reddit community of the page, there's a lot of complaints about it. We're also a strong wave of mexicans and russians here, where do you live, girl?

Let's hope so, girl. The old one was the special one. Unique and awesome and incredibly cool, it's a pity that good things don't last. I guess it is nature of life itself. Wow, I would love to been there for some weeks. I'm from Mexico, Guadalajara, tequila land. By the way, what's your name, girl?

Yep so true, all the good things never last xD ohh nice! Yeah austria is alright, especially vienna :) I wanted to go to Tijuana last year but it sadly didn't work out, the waiting line at the border was too long >.< hopefully next year :) how's the music scene in mexico? One day i'll be there in Vienna. Not to soon, I guess, haha. Yes, I know how it is, especially in this lasts months with the wave of centroamerican immigrants. You should visit Guadalajara too, it's cool and warm, and less chaotic than Mexico City or borders cities. Well, completely fraudulent and dirty, like in any other country. There's so many amazing bands and projects in the darkness, in my city is very obnoxious and shameless, but, this always happen. I'm José, you can tell me Pepe, it's the hypocoristic way of my name, haha. Elke is a beautiful name, by the way.

I remember we talked once a long time ago about Absinthe Blind. Wrote a little retrospective! https://sloucher.org/2016/06/23/the-lost-gem-absinthe-blind-rings/

Oh my Youtube videos? You remember those? Yeah that must have been a while back haha. I haven't done much more of those, most of the old ones are deleted or set to unlisted now. Here's a video I put together for an Atlas Sound track in 2008: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoNVZfUX1eI That's about the last original thing, my Youtube account just has random music uploads now (:

Izpiti, joj... To je tudi kar hud problem, ja... Mja no, bomo videli, če drugega ne bo vsaj tu v Ljubljani par kul koncertov ta mesec. Vsaj to.. Res vrhunska in zeloo trippy zadeva.

Yeah the Antlers fell off the radar for me when I listened to Burst Apart. Such an average album. Perfect example of a band who should have just pulled an LSD after Hospice. I'm planning on seeing Slowdive too, but I'm kind of in the same place as you. Nothing sadder than a middle-aged band trying and failing to recapture the energy they had in their 20s. HOPEFULLY I'M JUST BEING A NEGATIVE NANCY.

Totally not lame! The City is probably one of the songs that hooked me into them. I used to play You all the time when their EP came out. Milk at the end of the song is an added bonus. I guess people hate them because they're tumblrized or something? Maybe we'll never know haha

I don't know, I've seen some bands that are pretty mediocre songwriters whose albums bored the shit out of me but who put on amazing live shows. There are totally different skillsets involved in creating good music versus actually being an entertaining performer. Of course it's great when an artist has both, and I agree MBV are amazing live. Saw them at a festival last year. Speaking of shoegaze, how do you feel about the Slowdive reunion?

True, but then they could very well release a new album that proves they're incapable of releasing consistent material, or almost as bad, they could pull an mbv and just put out an album that sounds just like what they've already done. Either way everyone will bitch. On the other hand they could just continue to be lazy assholes and bask in satisfaction of people saying "wow, those guys were so amazing, I wish they'd put out more stuff."
