that shout didn't end. it was like a stream of consciousness. ha "he's alright" i don't know anyone further north than oldham i'm afraid.MIDDLE OF SHOUT! i'm reading up about Japanese trains. on the Japanese National Railways company "First class passengers were waited on by stewards and second class by flight-attendant-like stewards known as SWALLOW GIRLS and Pigeon girls." SHOUT ENDED BY TRAIN FACT!

i think it's just hard for all my fans to find out i'm actually a geek. oh now i definitely have to hear some of these obsessions! my friend goes travelling a lot and decided that she didn't want to go by herself this time so she asked me to come because of my maverick behaviour. so i sold my amp and other bits and put in a request to the god of serendipity to make sure i can still afford food and shelter when i move to france in september and now we're going on the Japan express tour (on a train) for 9 days from Osaka to Tokyo. END OF SHOUT. x

i wrote something to you last night and my computer turned into a massive douche bag and kicked me out. camden crawl was fun but i went with people with a lot worse taste than me and i couldn't overpower them so i didn't see anyone that great. Toy were pretty good and Lucy Rose is a bit of a babe. saw The Cribs. standard. saturday night i was nice and sober then sunday i decided to have a competition of only drinking straight whiskey all night. good idea by the way. makes you super attractive to plump gingers. then we almos got banned from koko because they only just realised that we weren't 18 when we used to get in there before. thankfully we resolved the argument by singing jack johnson lyrics. then i met a mate from work and decided to go to his mate's "after party" which was alright but in Kensington which is bloody miles away. but he had a hot tub and i got to see some boobies. when i woke up i forgot where i was and my mate had already left for work so i was in a house with a

didn't meet jack fucking white sadly. he did look at me once though and i felt amazing like i was somehow on his level off ultimate coolness. we hung out with fidlar and thee oh sees for a bit though. texas is amazing, loved it. the locals were really friendly and massive and found the english accent amazing which was fun. almost got a tattoo again on a whim. this time it was going to say "Fuck Mitt Romney" after the longest debate/argument/drinking game about politics. but i got talked out of it thankfully. my back up tattoo idea was to get a mustache on my face and from then on i wasn't allowed to make any decisions without approval of the group. e.g if i wanted scrambled eggs for breakfast i had to ask permission. i definitely need someone to run my life. i'll write you an inbox message later today and it will be full of my incredible daring stupidity. when are you off to amsterdam by the way? x

Ah that sounds good, might fancy that if I have some money. My flatmate Phil is a big male bonding fan too so I'm sure he'd go. I need to decide if I'm still gonna be in London for the Cloud Nothings gig cause my friend already has a ticket. Ah right that kinda sucks but I'm glad you're enjoying the course at least! Look like you're doing quite well for yourself too writing for some sites. I'll check out your work when I get in this evening :) x

Fair ohs are sick as fuck. Love them to bits. I have a brilliant live recording of one of their sets where Eddy just goes on about being drunk and being Chis De Burgh.. It's quite weird but very entertaining! Ah well if you're ever in London for gigs because I'm always looking for something to do! Are you enjoying your course though? I don't use twitter that frequently, just when I feel I have something I want to say :) oh and post a lot of instagram photos there x

Yeah I can't wait! Sauna Youth are currently ruling my world. Rich, their singer/drummer is an dude so I'm looking forward to having a chat with him again face to face as well as our twitter banter. Also, Eddy from Fair Ohs is meant to be going so I'm probably gonna end up harassing him and telling him they need to play some more shows before I go home! I'm sure they'll be great, I'm quite jealous seeing as I'll be missing out on them! Ah right, well to be honest, I'm extremely glad to be where I am as it's perfect for me. London is great but expensive as fuck. To be honest though, I'd rather have no money all the time and have the opportunity to be doing great things and going to great places than have money and not have as much to do. It suits me a lot better than being at home. How's Southampton? For me, it was like where I live but by the sea - so wouldn't have been much change! Meeting my friend later for a few drinks who goes to Southampton Uni, so I'll see what he thinks x

I'm going to assume you want something a bit more edgy and underground than Mew and bands of that popularity.. Denmark has a very a strong punk underground from which Iceage also stems. Another great band from that scene is Lower; they're not quite as harsh but they have a great sound. There's a rock band from Esbjerg called Kellermensch who also deal with post-punk, but they mix in elements of doom metal and hardcore as well.. consider a mix between Neil Young, Nick Cave and Neurosis.. That's what they sound like. As for upcoming acts; TAKO LAKO (which I'm sure you've already heard about!) are amazing, so is Michael Møller and Thulebasen. Also, Trentemøller. That should give you a lot of music to check out; let me know if there's anything you like and want more stuff similar to ;)!

Iceage are one of the most interesting bands in Denmark for sure, especially their new material that contains elements from crust punk and black metal! Lots of bands you've seen that I would love to see/have seen. But oh well, all good things come with time yes?

Well that was my second choice of course at Solent anyway, first was the Popular Music course - but either way Westminster was always my clear winner! Ah no way, they're a sick band! Yeah, they're playing Power Lunches which is a brilliant little basement under a cafe where I saw Sauna Youth play a few weeks back. Unfortunately, I'm home in Cheltenham for the week which sucks! Although I am seeing Sauna Youth again Sunday with Cold Pumas and Human Hair - which is gonna be sweeeeet! X ps Jessie J is a very large vertebrate in the backbone of all current shit music, to be frank.

Who in your family had a taste for an obscure Nebraskan young Bob Dylan when you were little? I got into him in 2005 and he was practically unknown then until I'm Wide Awake dropped. I still think Villagers songs are boring and without depth but live performances have swayed me before so I'll have to catch him at some point. What role play went down at Glasto? I just found out yesterday that he wrote a song for my friends Uncle (who was in Musical Youth'). Mm, I haven't listened to them in a while now, caught them back in 2k10 when Matt Groening chose them to play ATP. I'm off to ATP again in 2 weeks to see Jeff Mangum and a swarm of the Elephant 6 scene. Been really lazy as far as gig watching goes lately, I've only seen 2 bands this year, when I'd seen about 30 at this point last time. Feeling kind of burnt out on music as anything more than passive background noise these days :(

Not to mention all the Mcfly shows from when I was commited to upholding my 'I can get tickets for anything' boasts by having to guest list people with slightly iffy music tastes. Your profile just reminded me I've seen Thee Oh Sees but forgot to add them to the list heh. Where did you catch Stevie Wonder by the by?

I've never been to Southampton before, guess like if you aren't far from Brighton etc at least yous still got loads to do like. Yeah, yeah, that'll of probably been me haha. Where do ya recommend going out in Brighton then?x

Ah yeah, alright; you like it in Southampton? Ye, I used to speak to her quite a bit last Summer but then like never got in so haven't spoke since really. Heading down to Brighton this weekend though to see Stockurs. Ye, Liverpool's cool man, got an ace music scene and nightlife and that. I do American Studies, what about you?

I don't care really, sometimes the only person you can rely on is yourself, so if I really like a band, I'll just go on my own if nobody else is that arsed, I've done it loads. Right, so I'm definitely going to Allo' Darlin' My boyfriend is down from Manchester that weekend and we've got our tickets in hand already. Yayyy! Also, are you REALLY going to SXSW? Lucky Bugger!x

Do it try a few local acts first see how it goes. Dont expect to make money, some dudes do i not worried by that. Upset the rhythm was a real inspiration to me.

my mum did actually say "you know they'll lock you up if you get in trouble now" which was my introduction into adulthood. i didn't have that much of a riot. just went for a meal and a few drinks with my mates the night before and then a meal with the family on sunday night which was weird. people did speeches and shit. i'm like an old man. i'm game but not camden, camden is rubbish these days. also for my birthday my cousin has told me to sort out my passport etc for a music related road trip in america in the spring time but isn't giving me any details. if it's coachella i'm going to shit. x

you can get a single from Brighton to London for £5 or £3.30 with a YPR, which is pretty awesome, especially for when I go back to Manchester (probably on a monthly basis if not more!), as I just get 4 singles and that can cost me as little as £22! I may go to those gigs on my own if I'm not busy/bored/can't find anyone to go with anyway! Will see!xx
