thank youuuu. i shall be checking them out shortly. i have found a few new bits, but they seem to only have EPs out, and i'm trying really hard to not do the play them until i hate them thing (which i usually do, then get really annoyed at myself!) i'm about half way through something new on 8tracks (even though it won't go down anywhere near as well as my trashy stripper mix currently is... hah) i'll let you know if i get it finished. i think you'd like it. maybe. (setting myself up for a fall, here. hah) x

helpppp. i'm in one of those horrible, restless moods with my ipod and everything on it (and you haven't put anything new up on 8tracks in a while) so i'm stuck. have you discovered anything recently that i should be listening to? (i mean, of course you have, it's you... share your secrets with me) x

Tool have been my favourite band for a long time so it's a dangerous game to get me talking about them! Reflection is incredible especially when enjoyed with Disposition as a starter :D Similarly Wings for Marie and 10,000 Days are good to just take 20 minutes and drift to. Pushit is probably the song I've listened to most by them recently - the ominous fly-like buzzing of Adam's guitar :O The way Maynard sings "If when I say I might fade like a sigh if I stay" near the end is blissful. I couldn't pick a favourite - Eulogy? Parabol/Parabola? Rosetta Stoned? The Grudge? It's like asking me to pick my favourite child. Keep mulling on the wedding album. The advantage of Lateralus is that Charlotte doesn't like it so at least my outfit would be kept a surprise 'til the last second as she would avoid staying in the same room while it was playing. Maybe she can convince me to change my choice to Heaven or Las Vegas or Going Blank Again :D

I like the way he describes it as an "infinite horizon" or whatever he says. Charlotte and I were chatting about that song a year or so ago and she said it reminded her of a painting and I said it reminded me of waves. All three descriptions have an endless quality to them which is a nice coincidence. Hmmm, that is a very good question. I would have to say Tool's Lateralus because I think it embodies the man I'd like to be - measured, philosophical yet openly vulnerable at the same time. Also it's just a fucking good record.

Yeah. I love the way he says "Every thought had a predator behind it." ...rings very true. I could've chatted to him in Amsterdam when he was hanging out in the foyer but kinda chickened out. Ooh - Were those the copies I bought for Charlotte? I need to dedicate some time to watching them properly. In the meantime there's always this interview with Kevin Shields - https://youtu.be/HsFZCRuA4Qs

:) Saw them at the Paradiso in Amsterdam, which is an old church building, so there are these monolithic stained glass windows behind the stage - the perfect backdrop to their hypnotic droning! Yeah same - coincidentally, their drummer does really helpful talks about just that https://youtu.be/RGewlMBtDeQ

Haha. Dirge-peddling is my speciality. I was pretty obsessed with Jakyl for a while (not to mention Blooden Horse, Skull Eyes and Boaz :o ...) Speaking of which, perhaps you might enjoy Swans? Not remotely like True Widow, but still haunting, downtuned, and turbid. Deal! I'll bring the rum. You - the dirge ;)

ha ha... not me anyway (WWTLF). the wintertime rheumatoid arthritis is beginning to be of concern, whilst as an act of cruel mockery, and the only hairs defiantly pushing through on top are the grey (old b'stard) ones.... thanks for providing me some light relief.... and apologies for anything i recently, inappropriately posted here in a state of significant inebriation. i returned to the crime scene to remove all traces when many hours later i surfaced from the prolonged hangover....only perhaps the damage had already been done. happy christmas/froehliche weihnachten, Day btw i thought the recenlty aired docu on BBC4 was very moving... certainly have me fighting back the tears as FM played the final curtain

that's nice! I also saw JAMC and Slowdive this summer in Poland at OFF Festival, but it's not enough for me) I can't going this November to UK for JAMC gigs, but I think I'll can do it in February 2015, and now I take a holiday in December for visit all these shows. Sad that now I don't know what's my plans on May 2015 and don't sure which gig of Ride I'll could be visit, if it's will be fast sold out I think I'll try catch them in Barca at Primavera 2015)
