not quite sludge. they were the band Messiah was in before he joined Candlemass. that album specifically is from 1985. seriously good traditional doom/heavy metal.

Yo, if you need help locating the Since By Man EP or their other album, let me know. I've noticed it's been kind of hard to find them online, at least by my experience.

Haha, I don't blame you. Like you said, that riff that starts at 10 seconds in, un-fucking-real.

I hear ya. And yeah, it took me a few listens to really get into it but I dig it quite a bit now. Hopefully it grows on you. If not, 'sall good ha.

Haha dude, fuck punx cred. Liking Alkaline Trio anymore practically loses you all cred. Good Mourning being my favorite Trio album/2nd fav album ever, I practically have no cred at all haha. And I see you just listened to Eternal Return. Liking it any more now? Or is it still not really clicking?

Gotcha. I'm just now really getting into them, I used to be just sort of a casual listener. But I'll definitely look into the old stuff sometime soon.

Right on, haha. I love Undoing Ruin and Deliver Us. The Eternal Return is sweet too, but not quite as much so as those two are. Still haven't gotten into Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation, So Sedated So Secure, or The Mark of The Judas. But I will eventually.

oh I didn't see it on your last.fm; I'm friends with them on MySpace and every time they made a bulletin or anything I always read the name as Oven instead of Over, haha.

Holy shit, this whole time I'd thought it was Oven Stars & Gutters. Wow, hahaha.

Ah, I thought you'd heard it. My mistake ! I'm gonna give it a whirl after Behemoth is finished. Not really what you'd expect to follow something so bloody heavy, haha.

It's definitely a good "fucking hell!" It's my first listen, and it's awesome. I'm also downloading the new Thrice off itunes. What should I expect ?

Oh yeah, I forgot that they re-did it for that album. You should get Silverstrand, too! The original album that song was on.

I think if you listened to the right stuff you'll start getting into BM a bit more. There's loads of shit out there, it's just knowing what to avoid ! If you're liing Nemesis Divina, give Volcano a try, and Rebel Extravaganza. I think we had a BM thread on the OMB a while back, that'll be full of awesome stuff. I just listened to the newest Darkthone today, I love how the blend BM with rock n roll now. They call it Black n Roll, ha, i like it !

yeah! i'd recommend latterman's first album 'turn up the punk, we'll be singing' or their second and arguably best. 'no matter where we go!'. and for off with their heads, i'd say the hospital ep is probably the best collection of material. yr telling me about lawrence arms. i have still yet to see them, biggest regret in my life thus far.
