Well, so I finally saw Paul McCartney live! He came to Rio in March and I spent like a fortune on the tickets, but it was well worth it. What an amazing concert! It was like a dream coming true. I don't know if you remember me anyway, but I saw you on my profile and remember that we talked about Paul and stuff, so I thought I might tell you that and I did haha

I actually find it quite hard to classify what I do listen to, genre's can be helpful sometimes. But Opeth and Dream Theater are both tagged as Progressive Metal, yet they sound nothing like each other. Anyway I have band practise later so I'll perhaps weave ideas in =D

Maybe another 6 months left of two years, I've not really met the criteria but we'll see. I don't want to complain to you, there are plenty of other things that are looking up :) I don't think genres really matter that much, I think we should just appreciate a band for what they do, not if they fit into a certain 'clique' or genre. I would like to play my own compositions with other people, rather than covers :) I joined a band on bass recently outside of college and they play stuff like Arctic Monkeys, The Killers etc. Maybe I can twist them all into liking my stuff... one can hope! Though hope is the worst of evils, for it prolongs the torment of man! Dw about being late to reply :)

It is relaxing for me too, I've played it to other people and they found it too complicated to relax to haha, so I admire you that you agree :) . [rant] I initially went to study music technology, but as I was the only person in my whole town to do so I ended up getting shoved on the creative music course. The problem with my course is that it has very little structure, and on a personal level there are no musically intelligent individuals on the course[/rant]. Sadly I've not yet got a copy :( I can't wait to hear it though, (Damn you paypal).

I'm glad, I find Planet X to be my 'thinking' music. I love to sit down and work out the music, all the time signatures etc (I'm a bit weird like that). I study music at college, though nobody listens to anything but dance music, pop punk or muse. Do you study?

Hehe I see you're listening to Planet X! I hope you like them. I'm okay, it's my little brothers birthday today but I've got college tomorrow (Which might I add, I hate). I am glad you're okay :)

Oh they were just off the top of my head hehe =] there's so much I want. Blotted Science I've not listened to much, but it's the bassist of Cannibal Corpse, Drummer of Lamb of God and Guitarist of Spastic Ink (Ron Jarzombek, he's also played with Marty Friedman!) certainly interesting! Planet X is a jazz/prog fusion band, notably consisting of Derek Sherinian (ex Dream Theater). Star One you know and Behold... The Arctopus are extreme technical metal! As for songs, I'd recommend Alien Hip-Hop by Planet X and Of Cursed Womb by Behold... The Arctopus (though it might not be to your taste). Sorry if that message looks messy, anyway are you okay?

I tend to go in with something in mind and leave with something entirely different haha. My local CD shop is great, a lot of variety but sometimes the stuff I listen to is too obscure. I try and order stuff through there even if I have to wait longer than Amazon because it's good for Gareth's (he owns the shop) business. I'm good like that! I'd like some Blotted Science, Planet X, Star One and Behold...The Arctopus - to that effect anyway but we'll see. What about you, what CD's are you looking to invest in? =D

Indeed it does suck, but hey such is the way of things. I listened to Guilt Machine, again it's okay but it doesn't compare with Ayreon. Suffice, it's still enjoyable =] Can't wait till I get paid, I started a job about a week ago. Going to go on a CD spree methinks!

I have only heard what Arjen posted on youtube. I really wanted to pre-order a signed copy with the t-shirt but the order wouldn't go through, It was about $20 cheaper then too -.-' I must say I prefer Ayreon to any of other of Arjen's projects though.

No, I actually like Tony's singing, but not live! I like him on studio, but I think he's terrible live. But he's funny, he knows how to handle the audience, so that's ok! And I agree with you, Waters isn't a good singer. I love Gilmour singing though, he has such a beautiful voice, makes me feel in peace with myself haha. My friend is going to Scotland next November, I wish I could go too. His friend is getting married with some scottish girl. Lucky man hahaha

Yeah, I saw Sonata back in 2008, they are great live. Kakko is not a great singer, but he is a good frontman. I met them after the show, took pictures with them, it was awesome! Rio de Janeiro is the second biggest city in Brazil, so we still get a bunch of shows, but there are many bands that only play in São Paulo (the biggest city), which sucks. But I can't complain, really. I always wanted to go to Scotland, btw, more than England, someday I will =) And yes, Hammer of The Scotts is an awesome song, but their new cd isn't that great. Just a few songs are really good.

Yes, I think we missed the golden age of music hahuaa but hey, our parents generation didnt have last fm to talk to people around the world, so we gotta stay positive! I live in Rio de Janeiro, the show is in São Paulo, so I'll have to travel 6 hours to see Sonata, unless I manage to get a plane ticket, which would save me 5 hours. Where do you live in Scotland? (I was listening to Grave Digger's 'Hammer of the Scots' just now hahaha)

Thanks ^^ This year I'm still hoping to see Bon Jovi and Sonata Arctica. But I don't know yet, Bon Jovi I don't know if I'll have the money (concerts nowadays are really overpriced /= ) and Sonata is on another city, so I have to travel, and that's never easy, but I'll do what I can. How about you, anything in sight? :D
