Well, that's life ._. Since pillars got out I visited again rpgcodex a few times and noticed your lets play of The Shivah, have you tried Primordia ? (and Gemini Rue but Primordia is my fav....) I love primordia. ;_; I was about to get to play Shivah but got distracted by "Return to Mysterious Island"

use fireball scrolls against the ylsides, problem solved (black scrolls I think are the most powerful, if i remember right). Ohhh yes it's an excellent "organic" game allright <_> you can even cook your own apple pie, FRENCH TOUCH. early Torment art screenshots aren't bad at all

Yes ylsides, pretty much hell for fighter characters. You're not supposed to go there yet but you can if you want. Or was there a final Lich in Poxellis ? maybe just those two (or 3) overpowered me at some point, memory a bit vague right now. Anyway enjoy the game! And not a spoil or anything, but later on in the end when you are super fucking powerful and want to have some fun, try the summon spell "mega mega mega aam vitae tera", maybe as a mage though, I couldn't handle it as a fighter. Probably it's not even meant to be handled as a fighter lol

Ahhh ok you're indeed in the middle of the game already, you play fast lol. Yes, they are meant to be annoying, and Poxellis' tomb is amazing. That last Lich is sure as hell fucking annoying. Replaying as a mage might be very interesting too, different gameplay. I enjoyed stealth a lot. Useless unrelated tip : Lord Lunshire holds a special key. The one eyed murderer quest is the only one I couldn't finish. As a fighter, good luck with the "other" annoying monsters you will soon meet :D.

I reaaally advice you to apply all the patches and screw up your saves in order to begin again. And yes, reactivity and the environment is fucking unique in Arx, it's also a game that rewards curiosity and exploration. How far are you ? I would still suggest to do it again I guess. You'll get used to the runes after a while and draw them in no time. Fighter ? Mage ? Thief ? Mage/Thief ?

I was also a bit suspicious of the speed of this second kickstarter, but then I thought maybe there's additional clauses to these things, and that they can gather the money now and begin working afterwards or whatever, dunno what are the exact rules of kickstarter funding process. Ok, first thing about UW, Play UW 2, UW1 was too difficult for me, after two plays I was always stuck. UW 2 is more balanced, deeper and more varied than the first, it's also much more rewarding, (and also no more chanting mantras at shrines to get skills). Now, Arx Fatalis brings an unequalled level of atmospheric engagement in any game I have ever played, it rewards exploration and initiative, and by moments can even be a bit scary - a stout RPG, i can't recommend it too often
