I am really into the new Lakker, which is 90ies Warp records bliss filtered through modern sensibilities. Also Dumb Flesh by Blanck Mass has really clicked with me in the last few days. Sunbaked, ominous bliss. I'm also hyped for the new HEALTH record, the single is really great.

Hello! Yes, I saw him perform in a church in Dresden last year, along with Ulf Langheinrich (definitely give his work a listen, he created some really intense drone sounds with an organ) and seeing that I've never been to a concert that could have been comparable before, extremely interesting auditive experiences. Some months later he played a live set at Tresor (a Techno club – not sure if you're familiar with it?) in Berlin and it was just SO different – the atmosphere, especially. I'm incredibly jealous of you seeing Tim Hecker – like, I am still eagerly waiting for a concert somewhere close to my town.

I'd say just start chronologically, to be honest. Go from "Young Team", "Come On Die Young" to "Mr Beast ", "Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will" and end with "Rave Tapes". [If you grab Hardcore will never die, make sure to get the version including the bonus track "Music for a forgotten future", it's amazing.) If you just want some songs I'll give you some of the ones I really like: Like Herod [Young Team] Katrien [Young Team] Cody [Come on die young] Glasgow Mega-Snake [Mr. Beast] Travel is dangerous [Mr Beast] Rano Pano [Hardcore will never die...] Remurdered [Rave Tapes] But honestly, listen to the albums in full. [Yeah, I just noticed this advice isn't really useful. :v ]

Hey, Electric Wizard, Bonobo and Kaki King? I didn't really expect anyone else to be listening to those three together. I like your artwork too by the way!

Yeah I do speak French, I'm actually living in Quebec city right now, and I know Rick, I just don't really know where to get any of his music, I have some old elevator stuff though, I'm actually from Moncton, Mark Gaudet works at the record shop where I bought most of my boris albums xD

Ahhh I must have missed them the first time I checked your site then. So awesome though, seriously. That's awesome you were in Rainn Wilsons book! Well we're working on a new EP, I'll keep you updated if we need something from you, I'll run it by my better half in the band. Hope you enjoy the tunage

Oh you saw them with Russian Circles? I just missed them a couple months ago. The show was really really good. Red Sparrowes were so awesome, of course. But I was really blown away with Boris' set. Probably just because I had never heard any of their material before hand. It was really the droney bass sections that got me, the whole crowd almost fell asleep hahah. I hate not being able to use last.fm for listening to music. Without a sound card, a computer is practically useless haha. Any cool bands playing Montreal soon? I'll be there in October playing POP Montreal with this metal band, should be fun.

Sorry for the late reply. My macbook was stolen while I was on vacation. Buuuummer. So I haven't been using last.fm for a while now - since this computer I'm using now doesn't even have a soundcard! hahah Oh yeah Pelican are amazing, I'm actually seeing Red Sparrows tomorrow, and they are somewhat similar. They're playing with a japanese band called Boris? Do you listen to them? I haven't heard them yet, you hopefully it will be a pleasant surprise! I'll definitely scope out those other bands you suggested. Thanks a lot! oh P.S you living in Montreal makes me jelous. Calgary uhhhhhhh!

ah cool thanks! I'm glad you like it. We're actually on a 'hiatus' to work on different music with different people. haha, band drama you know? Pretty stoked for the new projects though, one of them is an 'all improv' band, so that should be fun. Thanks for the Air albums, i'll look them up.
