Cool. I'm glad I could bring them to more people's attention. My friend found their best of album in a cut out bin. We listened to it on the way home and I thought it was really catchy and clever stuff. I liked it so much that he gave me the disc. Give a few of their other songs a listen.

I actually deleted my entire account! You can delete all play count, but you have to delete artists out of your library one by one. I killed 2 birds with one stone--but the collateral damage was erasing not only my friends, but every shout I've ever left here. No one had taken my name yet, so I signed back up and now I've got a clean slate. I had over 2300 artists but I'll be damned if my library didn't keep playing the same sh*t over and over again, so....and the play count is not a big deal to me. It's not supposed to be a competition, at least not for me. I'll have fun racking up another 18K and then do it again. Thanks for the FR....your library still rocks ;)

I forget the exact albums...I'll have to go back up and check. That commercial was odd in a good...but still really odd...way. ^,___,^ Reminds me of the animation Studio Ghibli films. The characters' reactions are always really tiny and slow at everything when normal people would probably be screaming and running for their lives, and none of them really seem to care when it's all over. =S

Well, I'm kind of recovering now. I managed to get to school, so that helped a little. In other UBER EXCITING NEWS, the hair has been cut! It's gone from halfway down my back to a textured bob that stops at the top of my shirt collar. IT'S SO AWESOME! Also, now I get to style my hair with this cool waxy stuff that comes in a little tub. I'm definitely going to have some fun with this. Thank you for the song, as well, which has ironically put me in an even better mood. I'm looking forward to getting the Smiths albums I have out of the boxes. I'm sure I saw one or two next to my dad's Pink Floyd stuff. Well, I better tweet about my haircut and then tidy my room. It's an absolute bombsite right now! Happy weekend, by the way!

Well, I'm pretty ill. My birthday party is tomorrow, and as happens each year, I'm sick. EVERY YEAR! I was fine until Wednesday, and then I got cramps, my throat got scratchy and my nose started running. I'm hoping to be okay for the party, though, because the only time I can change it to is April. Not doing that! On the upside, I'm getting a haircut today (hopefully going short!) and my gran found her turntable and brought it over for me to use. I can listen to my vinyl! I'll have to dust everything down first. How are you?

Dear God. They're absolutely insane. And fantastic. I hadn't heard anything from them other than 'I Don't Like Mondays' - and yeah, that beat it by a mile. Why is it that the one song a band gets famous for is never them at their best? The Devo badge is awesome, by the way. I also found a Devo action figure, but it doesn't seem to be in stock on Amazon. Maybe it's somewhere else. I might look that up...

Once I made a skirt out of a pair of curtains for a party and it was referred to as "the skurtain"...good times. I wish I had actual 80s clothes though - that would be awesome. Well, hopefully my mum will get that awesome Devo badge I found on Amazon and put it in with my birthday stuff and I can wear it and be all like, "Uh, yeah, I've got, like, this holographic badge of an awesome band and I'm, like, totally wearing it!" while baffling people at school.

Oh - my friends like that too. I've got the German version on my iPod, and my friend has the English. Well, I don't know what to do if she doesn't enjoy music. Try getting her interested in 80s films or something! OH! You should TOTALLY get her into 80s fashion. No...that's kind of cruel.

She WHAT? Ugh! What does she like? Perhaps there's something 80s that's similar to what she's into. If not, just play your music really loud whenever she's around to annoy her. Alternatively, you could play a song you think she'd like without telling her who it's by or that it's actually from the 80s - maybe she just doesn't want to admit that she likes the 80s...

Well, my friends listen to some 80s, but not much. The current group obsession is Safety Dance, though, so I'm happy. Only one of them kind of likes Oingo Boingo. Another one didn't really mind Devo and seems to like Whip It and Jocko Homo. There's overlap between all of our tastes, but for the most part, they're all really different. It's a wonder we managed to agree on a song to play with the band for our talent show!

My friend's got two turntables in her house (one in her living room, and one in her bedroom). I'm jealous! Maybe I'll just surprise her one day by bringing round a big box of vinyls and forcing her to sit through each one. I don't know if my gran still has one...I remember her playing one of her old records to me a few years ago when I was at her house. My mum thinks that she might have gotten rid of it. It really is too bad we aren't friends in real life. I don't know many people who share my awesome music taste. ^,_,^

I'm still loving The Smiths, although I haven't got round to listening to much more. I did, however, find The Smiths on vinyl in my loft. I forget which album, but YAY! Sadly, I don't have a turntable, so I can't listen to any of the awesome stuff up there. :( That video was quite amazing, though. SUCH A GREAT PERFORMER! The guitar work is seriously brilliant, as well.

Well, you need to find your own way of downloading. DVDVideoSoft is a good multipurpose program to install. You can download YouTube videos in a load of formats, as mp3s, etc., and you can use it to convert file types and burn DVDs and stuff. It's all free, too! I'd give you a link, but I'm in a hurry and I'm pretty sure it'll come up with Google. And no...I don't work for them. ^____,^"

Ha...band camp. -___-" Too much practising. I play trombone, and my mouth hurt so badly after all that playing. My teeth were actually wobbling for being pressed against the mouthpiece for so long! We didn't get a lot of spare time, but I annoyed my roommates through most of it by turning my iPod speakers right up and blasting them with Oingo Boingo. Nobody enjoyed it. ^,__,^ There was a really plain girl in my dorm who seemed to think everything was much funnier than it actually was ("Imagine the vegetarians having meat! That would be really funny!") who kept laughing at my painfully unfunny anti-jokes. Oh, but we did some prank calling. That was fantastic. If you ever get a call from a person putting on a weird voice and asking for Carl, it's me. One day there WILL be a Carl on the other end of the phone. When that day comes, I'm screwed. Until then..."No, I'm sure this is Carl's number! I know it is!"

Yeah, I think I've seen the storyboards before, but I must have somehow skipped the Weird Science one. I absolutely love OB fanart! I'm kind of a geek about it. If I ever go to deviantART I always check to see if there's any new stuff. *blushes* There's loads of awesome art, though. Beginner150 is a good one for OB and Elfman-related things: http://beginner150.deviantart.com/art/Richard-Is-In-Your-Yard-74959356 http://beginner150.deviantart.com/art/Hans-SATAN-71296821 and, of course http://beginner150.deviantart.com/art/Danny-Elfman-Sex-God-122943320 XD There's also a fanclub for Danny - I'm not sure if it's still active, but there's a lot of art there: http://danny-elfman-club.deviantart.com/ You'll have fun looking through it, I'm sure! I really should draw some of my own.

I wish I had a blazer. Still, I'd never wear it, and I'm going to be super-casual next year. I'd like to be a prefect at school, though, and get the blazer with the blue trim...and a badge...and some snooty sense of superiority...yeah...it's a prefect's life for me! And I think I remember that one song by The Cribs. I'm a realist...I'm a romantic...la la la la la-la...something about shit... Love the video you sent. Intend to do something that awesome with your animation program? I would love to get a decent working space, good materials, hours of free time, some creativity and a purpose to make something like that. And you'll be reading this after the bells, probably - so HAPPY 2010! HAPPY NEW DECADE! WOO! HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Neat! I love animation. I had some stop-motion animation videos on YouTube once, but they're gone now. I did a solo talk in English about animation as well. I spent ages making this little showreel of really short bits of animation with only a webcam and a program that could run frames together. And blazers are the bomb. What's the blazer like?

It was great! I got the stuff I asked for from my parents (watched the Devo Live DVD with both parents separately...mum hated it, dad loved it), a load of sweets, PJs, money (enough to buy Farewell, but my mum is making me save it to get more useful things T__T) and other good stuff. Had fun. Now I've got to tidy my room and put my new stuff away. How about you?

Oh - the Forbidden Zone website sells regular copies of the DVD as well as signed ones, which are just a bit more. And that video is great. I haven't really bothered looking into The Smiths much (I suck at really getting into bands now...I just expect last.fm to do it for me), but that's one awesome performance. Artists who can play live well are the best. Fantastic dancing too. So, seeing as you like The Smiths...specific song suggestions? Always up for new music, me. Have I wished you a Merry Christmas yet? Guess I'll do it now.

I don't know where I'd be without my favourite band. I think every OB fan must be EXTREMELY thankful that they got into them! Oh, and all of the MK stuff (that got recorded...it's a shame to think of the stuff that must have got away) is great fun. I have a show in my library that was aired on radio with THE most hilarious commentator. The guy seemed to think that everything was "incredible" or "unbelievable" or "stunning" or "gorgeous", although I probably would too. Oh, and there was always a little comment in there about the outfits. Have you seen Forbidden Zone yet? I think the full thing is still on YouTube (in black and white), and it's fantastic if you can't get the DVD. Speaking of which, I'm getting the DVD for Christmas! Gah. I'm so excited. Even more so as I'm getting a copy signed by Richard Elfman. BOOYAH! I've asked for the Only A Lad and Boingo albums and some Devo DVDs too. Oh, and an iPod. I always think of that last. I guess it shows what I think of my bands. ^,____,^

If you ask me to recommend specific songs, we could be here for ages! I actually only discovered OB this summer, but I've already become pretty obsessed. Looking at what Boingo is in your library, I can tell there's a lot of songs I want to list. I mean, there's probably a lot you've heard and not scrobbled. Weird Science? I know a lot of fans (and Danny himself) hate it, but personally, I love it. Who Do You Want To Be is great as well - second song I heard by them. Oh...this is really hard. I think I'm best just telling you what's the best from each album. There's so much fantastic Boingo (including the Mystic Knights stuff) that I can't possibly choose. A good start would be to download all the rarities you can. A while ago, I posted something in my last.fm journal that linked to a rarities site. GO THERE. GET EVERYTHING. Also, joining Steve Bartek's forum is a great idea. Oh, and as you're already getting into OB, have a listen to Danny's soundtracks too. They're neat!
