Those are all wonderful songs! I've also had a bit of a hard time determining my favorite Loreena songs since there are so many that I love practically equally (albeit for different reasons perhaps), but I think I have it condensed to the following: Raglan Road, Dante's Prayer, Cé Hé Mise Le Ulaingt? The Two Trees, The Lady of Shalott and Never-ending Road (Amhrán Duit). But I could just as easily add Courtyard Lullaby, Skellig, Seeds of Love, The Dark Night of the Soul and Santiago to that list, and countless others (including the ones you mentioned). Her music simply makes my soul soar! <3 The Mystic's Dream was the first ever Loreena song I came across back in 2002 or so, soon followed by Skellig and The Mystic's Dream. For me it was instant love.

I've never been able to see her live, despite having been a fan for about 15 years now. :( She never tours Sweden as far as I know, and I live in the north of the country so I'd have to travel even further. What are your top favorite Loreena songs?

Bless you John, for you have brought joy to my life with Miranda Series 1 to 3 on dvd and a Dead Can Dance best of. I don't know how you found out I wanted that Miranda dvd so desperately, especially when I had tried to keep my desire for it hidden with the "low priority" on my Amazon wish list. You really can read me so well. Just how do you do it? My Mother and I will live for the afternoons where we put this on and enjoy, afterwards she shall read me excerpts from my Miranda "Is It Just Me?" book. I thank you John for these life changing gifts. The gift of music is a wonderful one as we both know. This DCD collection is sure to enrich my life. I've had a wonderful time listening to it this morning as I attempted to connect to Xbox Live but couldn't as some swines had hacked the service (may Amanda Lear bring disease to their lives). "Wake" kept me going. Dead Can Dance, come to page 3 of my library. Please do me the honour of cleansing the page.

John I just couldn't wait! I COULDN'T WAIT!!! I just HAD to rip open that slender envelope. I was expecting Sofi Marinova's "71 Golden Hits" compressed onto a new cutting edge miniature Vinyl, instead I was greeted with something even more iconic.. two of my favourite Nico songs "Frozen Warnings" and "No One Is There". My heart aches just thinking about the songs now. How utterly marvellous of you. Thank you dear John for your kind, thoughtful gift. I can only hope that my gifts to you are as well received. There are still two beautifully wrapped presents from Amazon under my tree, either from you or Patrick I imagine. I wonder if tomorrows unveil will be just as emotional? All my love and christmas wishes to you, xo

Thank you John for the kind words. Nice Loreena Mckennitt gif. Is it new? Ah yes, Amanda Lear is taking us back to the avant-garde dance floor hopefully with her album of remixes. It's no secret that we were both left a little.. shall we say disappointed with Amanda's latest album. It's not that it was a bad album in the slightest, it's just that after 2012's extraordinarily magnificent "I Don't Like Disco", I suppose our expectations were sky high. An album of Elvis covers wasn't exactly what we were lusting after. I hope we will have just good music for our ears once more with the release of the remix record. Elvis at the Disco? Why not? After all, we love a song that's sad and sweet, that makes us want to move our feet. Amanda Lear is icon, there's no mistake.

Dear John, I received in the post a surprise. My Mother alerted me to the presence of a mysterious parcel from Deutschland. I couldn't recall ordering anything for myself. I opened the package to be treated to the most beautiful EP on CD. Although I have already heard "Metamorphoses" before, I shall treasure owning it physically. It comes with a little booklet with pictures, chords for the songs and many words (which i'll perhaps get you to translate for me later). John, I must thank you so much for this generous gift. I really have fallen in love with Lisa Morgenstern's music. Rest assured that you will receive something from me in return soon. It may be a very late Birthday present for you but I want to get you something special as well. I know you have your new Playstation Box now so who knows, perhaps you may receive something for that? Perhaps you may receive Mary Byrne's latest, "Magic Of Musicals"?

Thank you for letting me know John. "Hairy Moon (feat. Trucitate)" certainly made me put down my Mexican Bean Salad. It was so beautiful that I almost cried, the chords kill me. It's definitely my favourite song on the EP, although the ones you like are wonderful too. "Eskalation" gave me a shock when Lisa started weeping uncontrollably half way through it.. and "Metamorphoses" was a finely crafted epic.

Gosh John, I must agree with the gentleman HeavyMetallerz below me. You must be very butthurt by the fact that you do not have 150,544 plays of a single artist, that you don't have the time to listen to specially shortened versions of songs on repeat to get your face on the front page of one of the most spammed artists of Lastfm. I bet you wish you were that cool. Gosh, I wish I was that cool as well. I might put Nico's "The Marble Index" on constant rotation and go on holiday for a few months. Of course i'll go onto her Lastfm page from time to time to see how wonderful I look as the top listener. I'll feel so magnificently relevant and important. x

Dear John, I would like to thank you for not only your kind words on Lastfm but also the beautifully handwritten letter I received from Dublin Mails Centre this morning. I love the Natterjack Toad stamp. John my friend, you are more than welcome. We are having an inspirational time together on Dark Souls. Josephine really is a brute force not to be reckoned with and Albert has his Miracles. Within the envelope I also received a grovelling apology from none other than Imelda. This would all be well and good if the apology was sincere. She apologises for her "cold, callous remark" but then goes on to write that she's "still smiling". To add further salt to my wound, there is a picture of Marble Index era Nico printed on the other side of the paper, folded in such a way that her appearance takes on that of a bug. Once again I find myself shocked and in a state of dismay. My Natterjack Toad stamp is keeping me going though. Warmest regards, Kai.

Don't you know who I think I am? I just finished listening to Evening of Light again for a second time... I don't even know what that song is. Lawns of Dawns is just as bad, maybe even worse? I might have to download her music... I don't know if I would like her other stuff though. Kai said I wouldn't. Do you agree with him?

Hahahah aww :) that's nice! She's absolutely incredible and unique! Every song has a different shade, we have a song for every mood. I love Loreena's music like 5 years ago too! But I started with Lullaby, from Elemental. Then I had a period thinking that Lady Of Shalott was my favorite song of her hahah. I'll hear Kate's music n.n In a first heard it's quite similar to Loreena's music :B

Yeah, I tried to put it like "Schöne", but I couldn't :c Hahahaha I understand that feeling! I felt that way before, until realize that even I try to keep Loreena on my top listenings, I always hear Loreena when I'm not with the scrobbler, so I give up hahah Loreena is incomparable <3 How long ago know about Loreena's music?

Yes, perhaps I shall invite you into my bedroom where I have a stage set. I'll don my best hip clothes and perform to you an achingly poignant rendition of "Runaway" as a tear rolls down your cheek as you remember childhood memories of listing to "The Marble Index" in the car with Imelda. It is a disaster when you lose scrobbles. I'm very upset that i'm missing around 6000 Amanda Lear plays. John Cale's "Vintage Violence" and "Paris 1919" are wonderful albums. I believe Cale has released over 30 records to date. So much to listen to. The song "The Endless Plain Of Fortune" is one I highly recommend to you.

Dear John, don't you worry, I have already listened to Miss Chiff's new album "The Bright Side" all the way through, from start to finish three times. There will be many more plays to come. One day she'll win you round, I just know she will. Miss Chiff is extremely sincere and raw. Today I received a box from Amazon. I treated myself to three John Cale albums. He's quite the legend and has many moments in his music that makes me have to put my Mexican Bean Salad down out of respect. He's beyond. Absolutely love him. Reserved spot on page one for him. John Cale and Nico are my favourite Velvets. I also bought Inland Empire and an Anne Murray greatest hits cd. Stewie Griffin inspired me to buy it.

"Leading Lady starts with... L" as our Amanda once told us over Johann Sebastian Bach's Prelude in C minor, BWV 999. Ms Lear is certainly an icon and a master of what she does. No other dance record has ever felt as fresh and edgy as Amanda's mesmerising "I Don't Like Disco". As everyone else is wailing nonsense over dance beats, Amanda is keeping it cool and mysterious. She's held the magic key for years.. a key that not many others have used and I suppose it's just as well. There is only one Amanda Lear. The new album i'm sure will be phenomenal. Amanda is not only a good songwriter but a master of interpretation. Anything she touches instantly becomes wonderful. Z dear child for the zero you will get, if you don't learn Amanda Lear's Alphabet. It should be mandatory to learn it in schools.

Dear John, the world eagerly awaits March 17th, the day Amanda Lear's latest album "My Happiness" will enrich our lives. I see you have been playing hits from the "I Don't Like Disco" deluxe edition to pass the time. Two of my favourite songs as a matter of fact, "What a Surprise" and "Scorpio 66". It's going to be an agonising wait.
