Yup, Venom's albums with Demolition Man are the best in my opinion, nothing against cronos, but Tony Dolan is amazing

A great album! Comparing it to Ironbound and TEE is a difficult prospect. I know that I don't like "Pig" at all, and "King of the Rat Bastards" has an annoying chorus. Then there are some interesting parts, "Freedom Rings" has a very unusual structure and has that awesome Iron Maiden lead break and groovy riff about 2/3rds through. "Another Day to Die" sounds like an Immortalis castoff, but "It's All Yours" rides that awesome groovy riff. Add "Bitter Pill" to it and I think it is a more comprehensive snapshot of the bands up to this point than TEE, which was more straight up thrashing with no real breaks or slower moments. My favourite post-Immortalis tracks are "Endless War," "Drop the Hammer Down," "Come and Get It" and probably "Where There's Smoke" That is my favorite off of the new one.

Actually Under the Influence is one of my less favorite records. I love Hello from the Gutter, Shred, Never Say Never and Brainfade, but the rest is just ehhh. The vocals are surprisingly weak, and some of the choruses sound really rushed. I think the best part of the album is that breakdown halfway through Brainfade; one of Bobby G's best riffs ever! Also surprisingly, it is Blitz's least favorite record, he hates it.

Killbox 13 is awesome! Definitely the best record from that period. The guitar tone is killer and there are plenty of winners. The Sound of Dying is great, as is Devil By the Tail, The One, Unholy...list goes on. Then you have tracks like No Lights with that great melodic opening. Really, a very forgotten underrated record. It doesn't really thrash a whole lot, it is more just heavy metal, but it is still better than the groove stuff and is clearly Overkill. They never play any of those songs live..

Yeah, lots of Sabbath influence in IHB, I think a lot of people get blinded by the fact that it doesn't thrash much and miss the fact that Bobby sounds venomous as all get out and the lyrics are killer - some of his best. WFO is a weird case, always has been. Some great tracks on there like They Eat Their Young and Bastard Nation (I also quite enjoy Under One too) but the production is just crap the guitars are so buried because of the bass. People group it with their 'groove' period but that isn't the case, it is just average thrash by Overkill standards.

Regarding Rage, you should check out The Missing Link and Black in Mind. Those two are spectacular and probably my two favorite. My favorite Smolski-era one is probably Soundchaser. If you haven't heard I Hear Black, it definitely kicks ass but it is weird. There are some killer tunes, with only two real stinkers (Shades of Grey and Undying). The production is kinda weak, but I've grown to appreciate it quite a bit. Regarding the last three, The Electric Age is my favorite out of them, Come and Get It is such an epic opener. All three have been great though, I am digging Where There's Smoke... and Bitter Pill quite a bit off of the new one. My top 3 Overkill goes: Horrorscope, Taking Over, and The Years of Decay, in that order. Feel the Fire would be a real close fourth.
