ye ur right, it has some great, classic tracks, like hallowed be thy name, which squeezes some emotional response from my withered and shriveled emotional core but there's a lot of bland filler tracks i guess. powerslave >>>>>>

No problem. I thought I remembered you having briefly been a member but I couldn't remember for sure. Been in there too long now, I suspect.

Welcome to the truly grim metal paradigm of deadly death and extreme frosty blackness. Be sure to be active in the shoutbox and forums.

Reminds me strongly of the eastern European folk BM scene (despite being from Norway).

Couple of messy transitions aside, this is pretty wow. All done by one dude as well!

Well I don't think they're quite as revolutionary as they are touted to be by some, but it's nice to hear one of those "atmospheric death metal" bands that actually knows how to write some riffs!

New Bolzer EP is pretty decent, though sadly it doesn't have anything as fucking amazing as Entranced by the Wolfshook :(

Always liked ATG's album covers a lot and this one keeps up their good record I think! With fear is probably my favorite cover of theirs, next to Red. Another Primal Breath would certainly be much appreciated as well.

Not used MAL in a fair while and since then my opinions on a lot of anime series have changed a fair bit, both positively and negatively, so I wouldn't take any of my MAL ratings at face value. Considered doing a total upheaval but to be honest I don't like MAL that much in general so I've never gotten around. My anime film ratings are pretty consistent though (I tend to look for and watch more anime films than series these days anyway).

I think threads possibly hits harder because it's set in "normal" parts of England, but i'd definitely recommend it regardless. Gonna try to download dead man's letters as soon as I can get some HD space free!

Zippyshare? Should perhaps get a soulseek at some point, seems like a useful thing for finding obscure stuff...

Well this certainly looks unusual in a lot of regards (can't say I was expecting the cover art to be a SNES parody...), nice find!

Really quite tempted to see AtG live later this year, so I hope this new one is interesting and not just Slaughter of the Soul pt.2 (which has already been made countless times at this point anyway...). In any case, their setlists look to be fairly diverse with regards to early vs later material, and Lindberg's vocals sound as good as ever, so they should be great live.

Finding it extremely difficult to rate films at the moment for some reason, if you were wondering why my film ratings have dried up a bit :S

Never heard of Dead Man's Letters before but descriptions are painting it as exactly the sort of "Post-Apocalyptic" thing I'd enjoy, so I'll add that one to the list i think!

This uses old recordings by Scaccia I assume? Anyway it sounds pretty good riff-wise but something's a little off about the production at certain points.

"Do any metal albums resemble VdGG?" Well it's a somewhat flimsy connection but Rob Halford has listed Peter Hammill as one of his primary vocal influences

It's perhaps not quite as memorable and unique as their s/t, but it's good enough in it's own right.

Seventh Seal is the only Bergman I've seen but it was pretty damn good. I've got the full length version of Das Boot, Jodorwosky's Holy Mountain and Kurosawa's Ran lined up for whenever I can motivate myself to watch stuff!

The best bit of Dark Quarterer is when he talks about "living as a rebel" and "never showing my face smiling". Genius band really.

Aguirre is the second best cinematic adaptation of Heart of Darkness! Yeah I need to watch more of his films as well, particularly Fitzcarraldo and other things he did with Klaus Kinski, who is perpetually fucking terrifying. Seen some of his documentaries though; Grizzly Man is really interesting if you haven't seen it before.
