Oh man, thanks, I've never listened to any of those. I've never really listened to Prince either, although I did see this amazing DVD when his drummer Sheila (?) has this crazy solo and everyone is naked the whole time. I might start listening actually. Patti definitely has a special place in my heart. x

Ok, so I'm not as diverse as some but I definitely have broader taste than others. And I have some Bob Marley in my collection! x

I guess I myself have a whiff of twee about me (although I still can't get anyone to give me a good enough definition of that word for me to add it to my vocabulary - some people use it as an affectionate tag, others use it as an insult...), but hopefully that isn't a bad thing. I don't think my last.fm is very indicative of my music taste. I guess I'm not that good at remembering to listen to music. Prefer listening to LPs/music through my sound system, and don't have a cable to join my itunes with it. But this is all beginning to sound rather defensive. I am well, how and where are you, good sir? X

I haven't got Alive 1997, IMO Discovery is their peak but I might get proven wrong

Digital Love is one of the best songs ever made. It deserves all the praise it gets & should rightfully get.

(sorry this reply is so late, its a combination of my internet still being dire, and me forgetting when it did work) youre right about the Pharcydes album being of its time, but that might be why i like it so much. maybe its a 'grass is greener...' thing, but imo the general quality of rap/hip-hop in the 90s (and maybe early 2000s) was much better than it is atm (which isnt to say its bad now, i just think im getting tired of the kanye/pharell beats in the back of so many songs). Whats your opinion on the Infamous? Its easily my favourite rap album ever, and its between that and Endtroducing and Since I Left You (by the Avalanches) for favourite ever. Ive got Supreme Clientèle, but not the others. when nets back to normal ill have a look for them. while on the subject of recommendations, you should check out a group called Giant Panda, one of their group is a Japanese American and raps in Japanese, and it has a suprisingly good flow to it

lol gonna have to repeat the belated response apology, my internets been crap over the past week so not got online much. and ive never given Bizarre Ride a proper listen to, it is somewhere in my "listen to" list though so might bump it up a bit. ive always thought Peoples Instinctive... was Tribes best album though! (although im aware this sorta goes against popular opinion) and ive only got 36 Chambers and the W as far as the Wu are concerned, think 36 chambers is great but the W doesnt really compare. got Cuban Linx and Liquid Swords, theyre both quite good but a *tad* overrated by a lot of people imo

Patti Smith, the Raincoats, Delta 5, and of course Blondie for some wonderful girl-punk.

You might have more "people of color," but I have many more women on my list. Perhaps you are a misogynist?
