All good! Ah shame about that, - but hopefully the cd isn't too far out. I've been spinning it pretty much every day since I got it, so I'm sure it'll be worth the wait

Hey man! How've you been? Just passing through, - was gonna ask, have you heard the new WHW yet? It's really good, steps above Fear of Infinity I reckon :)

Good shout on Makthaverskan I'll definitely be looking into them more. Interesting to have a Scandinavian approach to this style. I'm familiar with the Go-Go's but I've yet to fully explore their output, I've only listened to their best of so far. I can definitely hear some influence on these newer groups. Another band I forgot to mention before is Sisu. Its a side project of the DDG's drummer and it takes a much darker approach than the other bands. Sisu does seem to get a fair amount of criticism but I love it regardless.

I'm glad my listening habits are having a bit of an effect. If you like the DDG's I recommend also having a go at Frankie Rose, La Sera & Vivian Girls. Tamaryn sound interesting I will have to investigate their music some more plus its interesting to see mention of Genesis P-Orridge on their facebook page.

I see you have discovered Dum Dum Girls! I saw them in Manchester at the weekend, a very strange but still enjoyable gig.

Just listened to the sample track on youtube and I see what you mean about the thrash style... other than the vocals I wouldn't have know it was Dub Buk. It was decent just a bit generic sounding. I'll still give the whole album a go.

Interesting, I expected Dub Buk would be incorporating the electronic sounds from the 2012 EP into this one, or at least the cover art style suggested that to me. I suppose its a shame if they have totally got rid of the synths/electronics as that always made them stand out. However I really liked the directed they were going on the last album, they always create some really no nonsense hard hitting riffs. Hopefully it will filter through to some of the local distros soon but if not I'll get it from Eastside.

I noticed today your scrobbling a new Dub Buk album. I hadn't realised they had one out! Is it any good and where did you get it from?

Unfortunately I don't own the album yet and I don't know who is involved although it does sound like the work of one of the usual suspects. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the work of a Blazebirth Hall or early Temnozor member. Excellent album either way. Let me know if the booklet reveals any information. Have you heard of Shexna? Its another recent project Rodoslav has lent his vocal talents to but this time Doom Metal with some folk music thrown in. Kind of like Krynitza mixed with Paradise Lost. Its well worth a look, a slightly more accessible (in a good way) sound than he usually work with but still full of emotion and atmosphere.

On the subject of a second Walknut album, they were going to sign to Candlelight records a few years back until ANTIFA waded in and warned them off it. I reckon that the material that would have been the second album became Nitberg's Nagelreid since StringsSkald handled all the instrumentation and both albums are stylistically similar. I'm sure you know this but I thought I would add it anyway.

It is definitely one of the best albums in the genre. Pity there won't be another, although I suppose it doesn't really matter given the talent involved is so active across the Russian scene in general.

Oh, I'm obsessed with Kroda's entire discography. Temnozor, their last two albums are utterly killer, esp. Folkstorm. Now, how do you feel about Walknut?

Aye, it's kind of grown on me the last week or so. At first I only really liked the second half of the record, but now I think the whole thing is pretty solid. Apart from the Christmas song anyway. That one's just totally lame xD

Of course I could have, but the library would have been full of bands with 0 plays, which irritates the shit out of me for some reason. And I wasn't arsed deleting them all individually, so I thought making a new account was a better idea.

Eh, new year, new account and all that. I also had to cull my friends list, but I was being lazy and thought it better to just start over completely.

Ehhh I could do, I just like to refresh everything though :) - Nah, tbh I've not listened to any 'deep' hip hop for a while, all I'm into atm is speedcore, game OST's and raw black metal aha.. It'll come back around though, and when it does, I'll likely be coming to you to show me what I've missed :P

Hahah thought I'd drop in and post something, then I saw the "goat" picture of Graveland, and all the thoughts went out of my head. Anyway, just listening to your new mix on 8tracks, the shoegaze one; there's some killer stuff on there!

Yaasss, I can't decide which is best between them two, but hell they're both most likely the greatest hip hop albums I've ever heard. Yeah, I love consipiracy theories and that too, however their earlier stuff which is obviously more about consciousness, etc. I find to be a fair bit more interesting.. Likely due to the totally soothing beats on the albums.

Ahhh, yeah mate I still think the same. It hasn't grown on me or anything, apart from Where Light Was Created, Sunz of the green light and Dream Spiral.. other than that, can't say I'm too into it. Not the biggest fan of 911 either, their first two albums are absolutely flawless however, cannot fault either at all.
