Cool. You made your account on my friend’s birthday. Anyway can you recommend me some music by György Ligeti if I like the 2001: a space odyssey soundtrack?

Nice, you've attained already the '>168 scrobbles' milestone :-) ... I found you and me in the "Discovery Leaderboard" section (July 17-23), you are at #5 place there: last DOT fm/user/classicalbird/listening-report/week ... How's life on your place of the planet these days? I guess you and your family stay indoors more recently in this world-wide pandemia, as we also here in the German side of the EU ... Stay safe (and let us clean hands frequently) - and let the music keep us company in these "alarming" times

actually, Tnyribal is the first SB album :P but i definitely enjoy TMR-TMS more, it's a definite classic in my eyes. they've been hit or miss since then unfortunately. Lymphatic Phlegm has no such issue; they're always great

Děkuji :-) and here's an advanced lastfm-9-years-birthday gift for you: this wavegraph of your music history shows your top100 artists over ca. 9 years. I can see about 4-5 phases in your history where your artists shifted. What do you think about the graph? Any feedback (in group [group]Musicology[/group]) is appreciated.

Haló, lastfm recommended you as friend to me (in its friend finder app). Since we've a mutual friend (music_scholar), I'd appreciate it when you accept my friend request also. Perhaps, listen first to my own releases (I tagged them mostly with: [tag]violin[/tag], [tag]piano[/tag], [tag]experimental[/tag], [tag]minimal[/tag], [tag]wood and string[/tag]. And here you can see which tracks other lastfm listeners liked most.)

Good early Arckanum sound, except more minimalistic and with some added ambient weirdness thrown into the mix. I dig em. I haven't heard Tomhet yet either. Nawaharjan and Svartrit are probably my favorite of these Dark Germanic Heathenism bands that I've heard thus far, the latter especially because they are the only band I've heard that comes close to Sorhin's sound.

It's possibly the most brilliant summation of the death metal genre written since Bach penned the first Hessian Manifesto while temporarily possessing the body of Nebuchadnezzar in 550 BC.....jk, I just want people to go to his page and troll him :3

So it's just another avant-tag. I'm intending to listen to Grisey some soon, and some Japanese spectral composer. Messiaen is often lumped in there, but maybe that's some kinda "proto-spectralism". Either way, I love Messiaen. And if Messiaen counts, maybe Takemitsu does too. tl;dr: messiaen

I originally coined the term over a year ago as a parody of the nature of Opeth lyrics, but I quickly realized that the term was needed; can YOU tell me what other subgenre of metal albums like Blackwater Park or Brave Murder Day fit into? No, you can't. Neither album is death, black, doom, progressive, or whatever when you really look under a microscope at not only the lyrics, but the musical style too. So I guess feelings metal is a highly melodic subgenre of metal with a lot of roots in various riffing styles of rock and with the traditional themes of rebellion, evil, mourning, etc stripped from the lyrical content. Instead, soft rock lyrical themes prevail: relationships, etc. Get it?

Why would I give a shit if you like pop, m8? Seriously, I am a firm believer in every major genre of music having quality. You are allowed to like pop (just not j-pop). You are allowed to like electronic music (just not dubstep). Etc. I am not so narrow-minded as you think, m8. I posted something about feelings metal just last night, m8. Cmon, m8, don't play me like that, m8.

I find their first two to be good but not great, Cause of Death is probably my favorite one, due to James Murphy's superb lead work. Everything after that is meh
