I don't care what anyone else says....Dodgers made them WORK for it, and it came down to that one last game. Greatest series I've seen in a long time--heartbreaking, but great nonetheless. Incredibly proud of this team!!! Next year, next year :)

Okay, what do you think our chances are for this year? I don't think I can handle another playoff disaster like last year. My one Cards fan friend is still barely speaking to me, lol.

Damn straight!!! A reverse pattern--they sucked the first half, but are kicking butt the second half. Puig = manna from heaven.

I don't see it happening. Dodgers have squandered their chances. I am beyond disappointed.

Right on!! .769 after tonight's win....sweet!! :) Showing McWeasel the door seems to have brought good luck to the team.

Hullo! How goes the summer in Mo-town? It's hella hot over here. My wishes are terribly belated, I know, but I hope you had a fantabulous time at the Noir Fest! And if I'm not mistaken (as I have been in the past), you have a birthday coming up next month me-thinks... so a very very happy birthday to you, my dear! So much has happened over here-- graduated (well, sort of... once I hand in my thesis), moved (twice... soon to be trice), and yadayadayada... too much to get into! I currently don't have regular access to the Internet... and excepting the "watch instantly" option on Netflix and that uber-addictive music site MOG... I don't miss it all that much. I spend more time actually doing art in my studio... and I go home and write and read books. I feel so much more human! Anywho, I miss talking to you and hope everything is wonderful on your end. Peace and love! ~K.

G'day, darling! Glad to hear you had a fantabulous trip! Was thinking about you walking through the Getty-- an experience of which I am envious! Hope you saw lots of great Noir films! As pour moi, I'm still a busy little bee over here. And can I just say, BOO to the abolishing of free tracks! Che disastro! Anywho, I miss you too and hope all is mighty and magnificent! <3

Yo my dearest D! Well, I'm in final-month-of-grad-school mode at the moment, manically trying to make deadlines and amends with massive amounts of work, but it is spring(!), and there are flowering trees coloring up their bare branches here in the Philadell, and I would like to wish you the most marvelous celebration this coming Sunday. Buona Pasqua, amico mio! peace and love, ~K.

Pope D! I have seen Sunset Blvd. a couple of days ago! And you were right :) I enjoyed every aspect of it! Gloria Swanson's role surprised me a great deal! High acting really! I was looking for a film with a character like that in it! I am very happy that you encouraged me :) I guess i'll finish my billy wilder run... I have to see "lost weekend" and "the apartment"

To kick off my Spring Break in style, I attended the "Wallace Stevens, New York, and Modernism" conference at NYU.... By gad, it was brilliant! And thoroughly stimulating for an aspiring Stevensian scholar such as myself! (ha!) Oh, Wally, how I love thee! I'll bet you would have dug it too, my dear sir. Cheerio!

I have watched Solaris! And I am very much stunned and amazed. The poetic imagery is perhaps on it's most finest. Pitch perfect sensibility and a stunning pace that drivels. I have a confession to make besides this. I have never seen sunset boulevard! Can you give me at least two reasons why I should watch this? I am in a state of reluctance! Help me out :)

Ha! "Steena" is what a 2 year old Finnish boy called me because that's how he sincerely thought my name was pronounced. :-) I'm jealous of your Noir Fest! It sounds perfect-- and right up your alley! (As an aside, a confession: I revisited Out of the Past a few months ago and every since I keep saying, "Baby, I don't care!" over and over again... it is the Ricola and Lunesta of the moment...and it's driving me crazy!) Anyhoo, I'm glad you're going to visit the Big Apple for the first time! You'll have a grand old time, I'm sure. It's funny-- I've been contemplating visiting Cali for the first time over the summer! I could use some Russian literature in my life right now... so perhaps I will find a copy of it. And as for Madame Dielman, if you see it, you might think it strange that I've adopted her as my Last.fm identity-- muhahahaha!-- but it's purely for admiration of the film's execution. Brilliantly slow-paced, I dare say. Best wishes to ya, D!

¡Hola, Señor D! Man, not for anything, but this Oblomov dude sure is bad-ass! But that goes without mention-- just look at the charts! Anyway, I'm addicted to these Ricola Mixed Berry Vitamin C supplement drops that you can get at Trader Joe's for a mere $1.49 a bag! Figured this was newsworthy... if nothing else! Hope everything is mahhvelous and melodious in Mo-town. Cheerio!

No problem! I have always been a obsessive partisan of Mr. Welles. It was "the long hot summer" that persuaded me to lose my self in his irrational scope of the world. However, I do find the Touch of Evil better then Citizen Kane in terms of speechless eloquence! It conveys more then the realization of premature happiness or childhood whatever you may call it! It recalls the depth of anguish in a small bordertown with such a perfect perception! But "The third man" has this effortless great classic hollywood screenplay that makes it so right!

Why, thank you kindly, Senor D! I felt the ghost of K avatar was necessary for a while as I needed to be a bit more silent than usual and it cut out some of the more superficial interactions. I must admit though that I'm still rather incognito in this new image as the hair you see simply isn't my hair! The photo is a crop from one of these pseudo film stills I've been staging of late. Somehow, on sites such as these, I feel more at ease with a picture of me in disguise as opposed to the real deal. Thus, F for fake! And along those lines, in this virual world of "fake friends" that come and go, I must thank you for 'keeping it real'-- as they say! I have long since enjoyed our candor and exchanges here and elsewhere. Cheers, my dear, cheers!

And the same to you, Daniel dear! (Well... probably minus the "snowy" part given your neck of the woods...:) Best wishes and season's greetings! [And what is with the crazy red hooded woman knocking down the Pope?!?! My word! In light of this, allow me to add... Peace on earth!] And peace to you, too. :-)

I'm a noir nut too! I actually haven't seen The Big Steal, but it's in the mail on it's way as I type this... I just ordered Vol. 4 of Warner's Film Noir Collection. I'm really looking forward to it. Oh, and I added you as a friend on here. My other favorite noir is Sweet Smell of Success, another great one.

Hey, man, I'm sorry that my career as a voodooist had to come to end at the cost of your beloved team's title. I really did try! But evidently, a voodooist I am not. Best to stick to the art then. Ha! Anyway, I can't imagine I'll be gracing this city next year at this time so obviously the Phillies are bound to lose without my effervescent presence! Ok, evidently, a comedienne I am not as well. ;-) Anyway, I'm as busy as a bee over here, doing lots and doing nothing at the same time. Funny how that works. I'm not sure about Pants yelling either. But they're yelling in my neighborhood so maybe I'll have a listen. As for BBQ shows... well, I'll send you a rec... you might dig 'em! Crazy throwback vibes! Hope all is well despite the big letdown of a lost pennant! Be strong! There's always next year when I'm not here! ;-)

Ahhhhhhhhhh.... LuneSTA! I'll ask my doctor! haha... believe it or not, I actually pushed that one to the back of my mind, most likely because I'd say it obsessively to myself without end! Ahhhhhh.... LunesTA! I'll ask my doctor... OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN! It makes me smile to know that you were doing the same thing! It's probably for the best that I don't have TV anymore and remain oblivious to any and all potentially addictive and idiotic advertisement slogans. Anyhoo, I do have one of those horrid head colds but as those things go it's pretty mild... so worry not about me. I have my ricolaaaaaaaaaaaaaas to cure me... haha Actually I have Halls Mentho-Lyptus with "advanced vapor action".... I mean, let's face it, Ricola cough drops are basically like candy... who are they trying to kid?!?!? The old dudes with the horn things don't make 'em work better! haha... okay, getting delirious... time to stop rambling. Take care, dear!
