My dad turned me on to the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Sometimes I think he feels in competition with me to find good new music. I'll check out T by T. Thanks for the suggestion.

Matthews must be pretty old by now. I liked the fact that his voice wasn't that strong but somehow was memorable.

Man I love that Plainsong Amelia Earhart CD. My dad was a huge Iain Matthews fan and I heard all of his music (from Fairport to Southern Comfort to Plainsong and all his solo work) when I was growing up. I wonder if he's still around.

I'm recovering from shoulder surgery and, for some reason, I started playing a lot of Morrissey. Either he soothed my pain or just sounded better because I was on pain medication.

He's alright, isn't he? I haven't played him that much... he seems a little too subdued to be essential.

Hi Phil, I thought that I would drop by and say hello and see what you are listening to. Greg

Thanks a lot (not that I believe I'm particularly discerning - its just that most music gets more obscure with age). I will listen to this playlist of yours :)

BTW, I haven't seen a lot of live music in the last few years because my business days & hours are when concerts are happening. However, I see B. Raitt is one of your favorites. I saw her in the college cafeteria with just Freebo. [oh no, it can't be 40 years!!!!]

Nice to meet you also. It's so great to find other people with similar tastes! I've found several new artists looking at my neighbor's charts. I've also realized that I have some of the music, but have not really delved into it. Case in point: Teddy Thompson. Great stuff!

Oh, yeah, I don't think I have too many gigs that way except possibly a warmup slot in Bristol....(psst, you're supposed to leave messages on my page, otherwise I don't know they're there! ;-))

Oh man, now I am doubly jealous. I love Tift! She's my idol! And hey, thanks for the kind words about my songs. No idea where you live in UK, but I'm planning my first mini-tour there in June, so maybe you can make a performance.

i don't think JK has a record deal or anything. i did notice on his myspace page that his album was at #4 on something called the Euroamericana chart in Europe, but I have a hard time finding anything about him outside of a myspace page and a bit of press online. there is always itunes. =) lisa
