Which album, in your opinion, from the '60s has the greatest psychedelic sleeve art?

Hello again from Munich, I agree with your profile message that lastfm got worse after CBS acquired them :-( ... but: it's lovely to see you still here after almost 7 years :-) ... When you look back now: how did your musical journey evolve over time? ... Wishing you all the great music in accomplishing your forthcoming 43k scrobbles milestone... How I found you again? ... I was just reading messages from 2011 Nov. in my shoutbox... Wishing you a relaxing Friday

Hey...letting people know (starting w/ my top neighbors) that I've been streaming radio from Last.fm again with great results, due to two recent developments -- 1) you can now go to Settings & choose an exclusive stream provider (I chose YouTube over Spotify), and 2) you can now add missing YouTube links to track pages (I've added hundreds already). This is fantastic, because now users actually can control what's available to stream! How to add music: When you click "add a video" on a track page, there's a handy "search YouTube" link right there (in case you don't have the video link handy for the song). So, you can check the track pages for your Top tracks, Loved tracks, tag lists, tracks from your fave artists, etc. to make sure that there are vids on them (to power the streaming radio function). There's already tons of great music, but if lots of us with great taste add their faves, we'll be in great shape...& hopefully more and more of the old features will return in the meantime.

Oh man! *That's* the truth! I suppose we'll all adjust and maybe it will be more to our liking as it evolves... (Maybe) But at least we can still connect with friends! (& complain with friends... :-)

Hello there, John. Yeah, we're still on the radar and continue doing our stuff. Been hard at work with all of three projects for these years since our first connection here.

Yeah - work has an unfortunate tendency to interfere with music listening. I'm old & retired so it's pretty much all music all the time... :-D That's why 200k. When I was working - I owned a bookstore - and rearing my daughter, it was all work all the time. Gotta say - I prefer the music... :-D

Also, I just noticed that the photo in your "About Me" section ALMOST has the same color scheme as the album cover for Zappa's "Hot Rats"...

HI. It looks like your listening habits differ widely from mine in that my top 6 artists account for about 25% of all the music I have scrobbled since my last reset. Also my list leader has about 14 times more scrobbles than my 50th band. I've never done the math for the top 50 to see how much of the overall number of scrobbles they've grabbed but the number is bound to be huge. Greetings from POland.

[continued] For example, ICP's main theme throughout is The Dark Carnival, which is basically an alternative view of heaven/hell which, although originally was just a dream one of the members of the duo had, some fans follow almost like a religion. The Residents have also incorporated carnival imagery (they have two releases with clowns on the cover -- I Murdered Mommy, and Tweedles, and they also have Freak Show and Bad Day on The Midway, which are carnival-oriented). I know that ICP are pretty much laughed at, and I find their lyrical content silly a lot of times, but there are some moments in their music when they either just have good atmospherics (mostly in their intro tracks) and others that are just catchy. I sometimes feel like it would be interesting if ICP and The Residents did a collaboration together, though I do know that average ICP fans are from a very different crowd than average Residents fans. Have you ever listened to ICP?

Haha, yes! I first heard of ICP when a friend told me about their "Miracles" song. Since then I've listened to them on and off, half as a joke and half in a serious way. As I've mentioned in previous posts here, I really like The Residents, and as odd as it sounds, I've found some interesting similarities between them and ICP. Both groups have a strong tendency to focus on concept albums/storytelling, and in fact it could be even be argued that for both groups, they are primarily storytellers and entertainers first and foremost, though music just happens to be the way they both express themselves to the masses. The Residents are also known for their CD-ROMs, games, and other short music videos, while ICP is also known for wrestling, comics, and their annual festival (and their fanbase in general). Both groups also occasionally touch on similar themes and imagery.

You have indeed. Never heard of Jandek before but the description on his last.fm-page sounded intriguing. I like the bits I listened to so far. :) Actually your music library is is very interesting as a whole, definately a lot more on it that I'll have to check out in the future. And yes, I love Mississippi John Hurt! :D

Hi! Saw your comment on OctoberFaerie's page. Actually it is still possible to play other people's libraries but this will be a mash-up with You-Tube videos and Lastfm algorithm. Discovered this, once pressing the Library button for fun. You can also play your loved tracks, provided there is a video on YouTube. PS Impressive 13 TB collection, by the way, but when you'll listen it through?:) Cheers!

Hi John, I have another new piece out. This summer was quite productive. I wrote a lot of new material and now have begun to record it. This is a blues piece. It features last.fm user re-kramer on guitar. http://www.last.fm/music/David+Tisdell/David+Tisdell/Blue+Etude+2+%22New+Orleans%22
