Hey James, sorry for responding so incredibly late. I'm doing fine, thank you :) How are you? It took a long time for me to listen properly to the whole new Failure record, but I'm beginning to appreciate it more and more. It contains definitely some very strong efforts. Dig the song I Can See Houses from the very beginning, but that's slightly unfair, because I already knew it from the Golden dvd (which I saw on YouTube). I saw some new live stuff there and man, they've still got it, especially their new stuff sounds amazingly strong live! So what do you think ‘bout it? Awesome that you’re name’s in the inlay! I pledged too and I’m still waiting for Fantastic Planet on vinyl… Hope it arrives before Christmas but losing my faith slowly, haha. What do you think ‘bout the new last.fm website btw? I kinda beginning to get used to it, but so many features (like adding new events or pictures) are still not working. Frustrating isn’t it? Thanks for your message :)

I tried Rival Schools, and yeah, it's a great record and I am waiting for further listening to these great tunes. As for Hum, I tried You'd prefer an astrounaut long time ago, when I read about it in Chino Moreno favorite albums list, but at that time for some reason or another it haven't clicked with me. Right now I am listening it and really digging it, thanks for reminding it. After it I will try Open hands, but I just wanted to say thanks for recommendations as they were great!

Hi James, I'm fine, how are you? I only listened one time to their new track. I thought it was pretty good, but not very Failure-like. It sounds more like a Year Of The Rabbit song... I personally don't think they should make a new record per se, but when they want to make another one, they've got my blessings. I don't believe it will hold up against FP...

Hi! Sorry for the late answer, had a quite busy last few months. I've listened Nothing and I like it, should hear it more often though. How are you?

Hi James! Well, where did you find the First Wave Hello mp3’s then? I only could find them on Spotify. Cool you like BRS, but I don’t really know which album to recommend. If you like a not so polished, grungy sound, you should buy their debut Box Of Secrets. If you like a more loud, live sound, Fire Like This is your thing. If you dig a more ‘mature’ sound, more experiment and more layers, you should buy their third album In Time To Voices. I bought them all :P I am a music journalist, but it’s hard. I’d love to make my money with it, but that’s not easy. I do it all because I love to do it, but the websites I write for are in (financial) trouble or quit. So I would love to write for a music magazine or TV/radio program that can actually pay me. I’m in search for a ‘real’ job, so if you’ll know anything media-related, think of me, haha.

It's so cool you really buy the albums you listen to! The album of Violent Soho I downloaded with BitLord, a torrent program. It's the only album by Violent Soho he could find, but I like it, so will play it more. And Basement I just played once, but like it! Thank you. What do you think so far about First Wave Hello and Blood Red Shoes? You really should try BRS's song Colours Fade, it's pretty post-rock-ish.

Thanks to you I discovered awesome bands: Dinosaur Pile-Up, Violent Soho, Rival Schools... Thank you! I'll check out Verbena. I could recommend you Pulled Apart By Horses, Blood Red Shoes, First Wave Hello and Sunny Day Real Estate. And more Fugazi. :)

Hm, too bad the link doesn't work. I know, believe it was sold out in 10 minutes or so. But did you notice that many people have bought tickets for their LA show just to sell them for four or more times the regular price? It's criminal. And I noticed we have Autolux in common (Your musical compatibility with Volcomaestro is Super - Music you have in common includes Failure, Hum, Autolux, Far and Veruca Salt), I listened YOTR and Ken's other projects too, must listen more though. Really dig your Library, think I'll use it as a taste role model haha :)

Hi, I really need them to come over, otherwise I have to make a trip to the U.S. haha. I found the demos by accident: http://netkups.com/?d=1f54d31202fad. Enjoy and thanks for your shout! :)

Did you give Daylight's record 'Jar' out? I think you may like Balance and Composure as well.

Ha, well that's my favourite deftones song, as you may have guessed :) I hope they're playing the Friday at Reading as I can't do the full weekend as going away elsewhere, but someone told me thy were doing the Friday so I hope that's true. I only live half an hour away. I think 2006 was my last Reading also, if that was the year Pixies headlined?

Cheers mate. I thought I was going mad and missing something about Diamond Eyes. Some very average tracks on there. KNY is way better, so I'm mighty relieved. Still cannot better ATF or WP for me. Sadly, I missed out on the tour but I'm gonna try my damndest to see them at Reading. Cheers for the add mate :)

I can imagine it must've been magical being there, especially if it's one of those "on your list to see" places =) Around The Fur beats White Pony on your list eh? Me too. It was the first Deftones album I procured, needless to say I've been hooked ever since. Funnily enough I was making a Top 10 of All Time list last night for a group on facebook, Around The Fur featured prominantly. The car is defintely one of my favourite places to really listen to an artist; and KYN sure does have a lot of glory to behold!! Have a great weekend =D

Hey James! How goes it? Well, it ain't on the same level as their previous (but hey, what is?) but it's not bad. I really like 'Taree' and 'Black Saturday' in particular.

You WERE in SF! Yeah, it almost always gets chilly in the evening there. I got lucky when I went it was a rare night where I didn't even need the jacket I brought along. Gorgeous views of the bay from the stands though, right? Or did you get a foggy night too? TODAY they are back home at AT&T Park for game 6. *Hold ups \m/ displaying my orange and black nail polish* ;)

I didn't know you had plans to go to a baseball game while you were here. How American. :p The game wasn't in SF was it? I didn't think you were going to get close to my part of the state (I thought you were mainly traveling in SoCal). The AT&T Stadium is really impressive. I went to a home game last year, and it was epic. They won, which always helps make it a better time. lol Yeah, last night was a bit of a disaster for them. Changing pitchers didn't help either. Now they have to sweep the next three. Good thing is that they've pulled that off before. Black+Orange! GOOOOOOO G I A N T S ! ! ! :D

I'm well James, thank you. :) I decided to have another listen to I Bet on Sky since I couldn't remember what my impression had been the first time around...which isn't a good sign is it? I blame it on the amount of music I listen to...hard to have anything really stand out when I'm constantly changing the bands, and genres I play. As I listen here it's all coming back to me though. The album is a mix of softer and mid-tempo songs. Which is nice at the right time/in the right mood. Do you have Spotify? I know some people have told me it's not available in their country, but I'm going to link you to site so you can listen to the complete album if you want to. http://open.spotify.com/album/1JVfwi7AcMpYN8leoXaze8

Nice directions, but which side of the road did you drive on, hmmm? lol You should write a review of your Cali trip for the forum. I'm sure you've got stories to tell. I checked out the uploading of pics on your profile, and I got it to work. I also had another member try to add a pic to his profile to verify it wasn't a permissions issue. Please try again. :)

I'm actually really enjoying Oceania!! I've only listened a few times but it's definitely more exciting than Zeitgeist and anything else I've heard since. I'm not sure it's equal to any of the other albums yet, but time will tell...and I think it's a possibility it may at least equal some of SP's former work. Still it doesn't really feel to me like the Pumpkins are back. 'cause really the only one 'back' is Billy and it doesn't feel the same. I still am really enjoying the album and it sure does give me hope! I find myself iistening to various songs on it and grinning and yelling in excitement. a good sign I'd say :)

See, I'm one of those who loves Adore - did then and still do now ;) It's got some of my all-time fave SP songs on it. And I like that the band has done such different-sounding albums. I also loved the Machinas - can't wait for the remaster of those!!! The mere thought makes me giddy. Zeitgeist? Yeah, for me that one's about 65-70% good, and even the good stuff sometimes lacked a certain something. But there are still songs on there that I love. It was definitely their weakest album to date. Oceania is sounding a hell of a lot better, but I'm not yet sure that it beats any of the other albums except Zeitgest... Perhaps I will be able to say sometime that it's equal to some of the others. Time will tell ;) I've only had one listen, and damn it my CD didn't arrive today either! I'm getting very impatient here ;)
