Hi Dane. How’s it going? Thanks for checking in. Nice to know we still like some of the same music. “Your compatibility with rustycamino is Very High. You both listen to Parquet Courts, Drake and Deerhunter.”

Yeah, that Parquet Courts album from this year is SO good. Do you have an album of the year? Mine's "Freedom" by Amen Dunes.

Unfortunately, I don’t have an album of the year. I haven’t heard your album of the year either, so I’ll have to check that out at some point. Did you get to see Parquet Courts at all this year? I saw them at the end of November and had a good time.

I wish!! This is such a pathetic year for music in Pgh. I can't believe neither of us have been to a show since NOVEMBER.

Yeah, and we're still "super" after all these years! I recently got a new job at Pitt, and I am FINALLY able to install Last.fm on my work computer, so everything you've seen me scrobbling is what I listen to at work. Agreed about the lack of concerts so far. I am pumped, though, for Sleater-Kinney! The other two on my events listing right now are artists that I haven't listened to much at all, but they seem like they might be up my alley. Might or might not go to those.

Haha, no worries! They are both brilliant, so I can respect that decision. Ah, the Fever - so good and yet nobody ever seems to have heard of them. It's a shame. Great that you got to see them live, though! That's the problem with being into American punk and indie, but living across the pond. Actually, I suppose it's probably equally difficult in parts of the US as well...

Hi Amira. I got you beat on that delayed response! No worries, who ever looks at shoutbox shit anyway, right? I never heard much Black Pus but I love Lightning Bolt. Glad to hear you're into the hard stuff :P I've been into Mac Demarco, War on Drugs, Angel Olsen... I kinda got hardcore into year end lists, so I'm a bit of a whore for critical consensus right now. Speaking of hard stuff, do you like Melvins? God I love Houdini. Also, to the person below me, rocketsandwich, you should def start with Friend Opportunity, and then move on to Runners Four.

la isla bonita was the fist deerhoof album i heard and i liked it, i was expecting more tropical vibes though, i feel like there's potential for it to grow some more. As a more knowledgeable deerhoof listener what would you recommend?.

yes I agree! it was literally a dream lol. I've been obsessed with the new songs since I heard the bootlegs and they really didn't disappoint. the new album is going to be sooo good. dark cloud/boys latin was crazy good live. and thanks!! I only took like one really bad picture that didn't even turn up . did you stay after and meet him?

They're truly amazing people. I got to meet them once and get their autographs, it was like a *ahem* religious experience for me! I was kicked out of a band once for singing the wrong words to "Delirium of Disorder". I ended up getting yelled at by a dude with a full chest piece of the "Suffer" cover art. Someone once told me that Greg Graffin was publicly outed years ago for sexual harassment on AIM. I've always wondered if that was true, but I can't find any significant evidence to back up this claim. My guess is it's total bullshit.

I've seen them 3 times and yeah, they're always phenomenal. People like to hate on The New America, but I think it's definitely underrated.

Hey friendo. How's it been? What'd you think of "Moms"? Have you ever heard Supergrass? I'm obsessed. I think you'd dig em, check out "In it for the Money."

Hey! Sorry for the slow reply. I somehow never saw your original message. Anyway, good to hear from you. I'm excited for the Tobacco show, of course, and I didn't even realize Xiu Xiu had been added to the Swans show. Now I'll definitely have to go. I caught the last Swans show at the Rex and it was great. And I think you'll get to see GY!BE sometime. They've been touring a fair amount, so I feel like they have to come to Pittsburgh at some point. Did you go to Silver Mt. Zion? I was really surprised by how small the crowd was, especially since I think they sold out Mr. Smalls last time they were there (2008, I think). Anyway, good charts, as always. I think if I still scrobbled, Eluvium and Grouper, respectively, would be my top two artists now. Maybe Red House Painters in the top five, also.

I could probably go on forever about Antichrist Superstar. I was 13 when I first heard it and it scared the shit out of me because I had grown up in a very southern baptist family and up to that point the only music I had heard was whatever was playing on our local country radio station. I don't think the music was that frightening - it was the ideas he presented in the album. Even though the music's not that heavy it was my first taste of heavy music.

Saw that you loved some tracks from Antichrist Superstar...that was the album that got me into heavy music as a teenager. Ah, nostalgia.

Calvary scars of microcastle or weird era? which one do you like best?. I think the first one is more focused, i love how it it leads straight to green jacket and the arpeggiated guitar as an outro is ridiculously comfy.

No I haven't listened to it yet, I just heard King of the Beach the first time not too long ago, I like it. Have you heard Berserker by Jane? It's Panda but it's a lot more minimalistic and ambient than Person Pitch or Tomboy.
