Thanks sir, I think I've been spurred to write a review, and update my blog altogether, because it's my only real attempt at publication. I've considered writing for the newspaper, for literary journals and online zines but something stops me, I just don't think I'm ready yet. I can't go ten minutes without having writings and readings interconnected, relevant, and interspersed in my thinking, sans sleep - but even then in dreams. I have to write all the time. The difficulty, unfortunately: I rarely am content with what I write. I can impress myself, can maneuver my way round the English language but everything I want on paper is unsaid. It's not a self-esteem thing, I think, it's more distinctly a dilemma that happens to all writers. Good for you for conquering that and writing for the Observer! You must tell me everything that goes on in the real literary world.

Yeah, TASGJ! is definitely in top form when it's being completely morbid and irreverent (I thought "The Brothers Cinco" was the best moment of season 4. The Cinco eTrial? Genius). In the meantime I'll have to get by on new Venture Bros.

That's wonderful work on your blog, especially the recent Yo La Tengo post. The mention of "hushed, nuanced vocals" is really fitting. I would agree with the "subtle, yet passionate performances and the endearing lyrics" but I rarely get past the vocals! I find it odd, though, that YLT is not among your top artists. It's not a fault but it really is surprising, YLT grasped hold of me like few others.

are you trying to be nick cave on the cover of Boatman's Call? Because if not, the resemblance is uncanny.

Oh man, thanks so much for making them for me! I know you must have put a considerable amount of effort into them. I'm currently listening my way through the third CD... Thanks again!

Did you get a ticket for A.C. Newman yet? I don't know if I should take a chance and just try to get one at the door, or go through the hassle of purchasing one in advance. :/

Glad you think so! :] Yes, Crime & The City Solution is one of my favorites. For albums, I highly recommend "Paradise Discoteque" and "Room of Lights".
