This is way late, but I live just outside of Buffalo. And thanks man, yours is pretty gnarly too. I checked out some of Michita's stuff, and I'm really digging it.

Staten Island some in Manhattan. Oh nice that's cool. I know jazzy hip hop is just wonderful. It never gets old to me. I found Nujabes through Samurai Champloo also. I was so amazed with it and just had to find out who made the music. Best thing I have ever done. Ugh mainstream is just a load of bullshit XD. I joined the group too. I can't wait for that movie. Cradle Orchestra's music is great! I go finished listening to their stuff yesterday. Now I'm on Jazz Addixx. They're really good. They're not Japanese but I like them. I need to look up Pismo. Kenichiro Nishihara is a huge favorite of mine. Hahah I hate Pandora. That skip limit feature is absolutely ridiculous.

Aww I love NYC! I still have family over there. I miss it haha. Same here and my brother listens to him ugh. I hate Lil Wayne haha. When it comes to music the Japanese are really good at it. They have never disappointed me. Really?! That would have been so cool to go to lol. Yeah there's going to be a documentary about Nujabes too. Can't wait for that. Yeah I love Cradle Orchestra. I have all their albums. Really good stuff. I love that song. I'll look up Pismo. I haven't done that yet. Forget Pandora lol Last.fm is so much easier to use I love it.

Haha where are you from? Oh my gosh seriously though! His music really doesn't make any sense and neither does most stuff on the radio. We really are though I agree with you 100% I really love Japanese hip-hop and jazz. It's so much better and really beautiful music. Yeah I just made it a couple weeks ago finding so many good artists. Love Immortal Technique and it's sad to lose Nujabes :( Someone with so much talent. He deserved so much recognition.

Hahaha. I've often had to make a decision between studying and anime. Hmmm.....It's so hard to say because I like a lot of anime. I guess my favorites are...Hellsing (the OVAs...not the regular series. that one sucks), Samurai Champloo, Darker Than Black, and Haruhi Suzumiya? But, then there's the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei animes....ahhhhh....it's soooo hard to choooose. :/.

I actually saw that a month ago, I REALLY want to go like you have no idea, I'm gonna see if I can make it even though I'm cutting it kind of close since it's right around the corner but it would mean so much if I could go because it's something finally on the east side and not on the west like they usually have these types of things. I know EXACTLY how you feel though. <3

My high school had macs, but Safari didn't exist then ... and now I feel old. If it makes you feel any better, I don't get a break til November, not even between terms. Haha, yeah, I figure if I get the first two assignments for each class out of the way, I can take forever to do the final assessments. It'll all work out. I'm hoping to knock over the sonnet tomorrow, and at least do the preliminary research for the other class. And write up a gig review that I meant to do before I got sick =/

lol I don't mind google, I think it was actually firefox causing the problem. Besides, it was this or safari, and I hate safari. 3 months is not so bad! Heh I may be doing okay in this class, but I haven't even thought about my other assignment, which is due before the writing one!

I couldn't even get it to open the damn page! It was a good excuse to try a different browser though, so I downloaded Chrome. It's kinda weird, but I think I like it. Is it much longer til the summer break? The haikus are done, and if I don't look at them I won't start to hate them, and the sonnet is 2/3 done, just the last quatrain and couplet to go. The only thing that's bothering me now is trying to find a thriller to review. I can't decide on anything!

Oh and I like Immortal Technique too. I just like asking others about the issues I have with some of his lyrics and hip hop oin general - maybe someday someone will have The Answer for me.

Yeah, there isn't much on commercial stations these days I like... I can listen to some of it a few times and think it's OK but they tend to quickly lose their charm. You had asked about MK Ultra earlier - yes I have heard of it. not only is it in my fav IT song, The 4th Branch, but it figures prominently in a book I read last year called Disaster Capitalism by Naomi Klein. No, I don't consider being in the middle politically a bad thing. I was just commenting that i found it an unusual place for an avid listener of IT to be. And no, I don't believe it's wrong to be 'unusual' either. heh. So is there any other politically/socially motivated hip hop (or anyone really) artist you like that you think I probably haven't heard and might like?

It's a good song though despite the subject matter it still gets to my hangup with IT and hip hop in general - "bitches, niggas" and so on... I'm not condemning it because I do believe there is a purpose to it beyond shock (which at this point I doubt there could be much left) or crudity - gays took the term 'queer' and turned it into a more positive label by applying it to themselves in an upfront manner - maybe it's something similar that's been going on with hip hop. I don't know. One more thing, because I think you might have good naturedlymisinterpreted my "wild-eyed" comment: I meant it in regard to your listening to so much Immortal Technique who tends to attract those on the fringes - the highly well... excited ones, and after our few conversations, you seem to be more in the middle then I would expect from someone who has him as one of their most listened to artists. It's seems shaky how our musical compatibility can be "Medium" when IT and Moby as artists shared in common.
