tbh, what I do right now is less time consuming than manually editing...go to iTunes, if the set of music you imported is jambled up, search the key words until only that set of music comes up. file > export > playlist to .txt. delete the set of music from itunes. go to the home folder of the set of music files, highlight them all, go to properties, delete the contents of "Title" and "artist" by replacing it with a spacebar. open up the .txt file on excel, do your darn editing by using ctrl-H and all those excel shortcuts (too many to name) the vital one is data to cells function to rid of any "-", "_", and other signatures...also use another sheet if it gets messy. when you're all done, delete extra sheets, save as the format as it came in with the .txt file. file > import > playlist and then you'll have your playlist straight. aiight?

yeah, i guess if i were to make it for myself, i would be really ghetto looking cuz only i need to know how the prgm works...i guess i could start off with importing all the mislabeled songs and building an abstract string data type to get all the track title, album, track number, etc info that the songs already has...i would somehow import the dat file into excel and excel's built-in functions would take care of all the monotonous naming process cuz i could write simple for-loops and if-statements in it. that would save me quite a bit of time using the functions that excel already has instead of writing all the algorithms for a new program. after editing, export the excel file sheet back into the abstract string data type and overwrite the attributes for the songs. yeah, my bad if i went over your head

yeah, I know abstract data types, recursion, arrays, and parameter passing methods in c++, which is more customizable than java...really rusty tho..don't know how to make custom user interfaces for the prgm...plus, don't want to fund my own website and promote this prgm -- for it to gain popularity, i would need to make the prgm free to out-compete itunes, winamp, wmp and such...i would have to spend ads promoting it, which would make me set me back a few grand...and during which the time i spent making the prgm, I could've been chillin...so, that's why i'm really lazy...the prgm would have the miniscule probability of becoming the next trend, but then for it to be legitimized, everyone would have bought their music instead of downloading it from mixtapes so we wouldn't have the "naming problem" in the first place...yeah, corporate america

that prgm didn't make my editing any faster cuz i've been just using itunes to edit them and it's been about the same speed. i feel like i'm gonna write up a program that doesn't use that much RAM and is extremely effective of converting non 128/192/320 songs into the right kbps in addition to the other stuff i wrote in my last post cuz i feel like all the music programs that i use be robbing my RAM

i've been organizing my mixtape collection, especially with the ones that go 03-rakim-ft-mobb-deep-hoodlum in the title track and nothing in the artist or album columns. Deleting duplicates on mixtape compilations and i've been correcting minor mistakes like correcting havoc ft prodigy to mobb deep. i wish i there was a program that has all of the functions of excel (including graphs - so you can see some nice stats!) for a music program...that'll be tight. yeah, i would be chillin if it weren't for some of my played tracks not getting scrobbled. i was away from my music one time and i played my station from another from another computer and it had mostly tracks that were really radio friendly and some tracks that i've haven't heard in a long time - that was really refreshing
