sorry if I assumed too much (or not enough) of your familiarity with him . His other works are so overshadowed. a critic on NPR said something like "he may be something of a one-hit-wonder, but..."

Don't let the third symphony be the only thing you hear from Gorecki. I like as much as anyone else, but it doesn't stop there.

I saw CocoRosie open for Antony & the Johnsons a few years ago and didn't get them. What am I missing?

I've lived in Rochester most of my life but I have never been to Dinosaur BBQ or eaten a garbage plate... don't tell anyone. I do however frequent the bop shop and I find Dog Town to be a great substitute for DBBQ. Enjoy The Raincoats on the 16th, I know I will! (impressive library, by the way)

Start with the Go-Betweens and Wipers. Neither band had a bad album and they're pretty easy to find. You've apparently missed Television as well. Their first two albums are nearly perfect. Impressive charts regardless.

your avatar in miniature looks like an ultrasound of a foetus. i'm both disturbed and pleased to have realised that's it's actually just a dirty martini. the comparison in-and-of-itself is pleasingly disturbing.

Nice catch. Now if only I could find 4 more artists idly looking out a train window, I will be set.

Yeah! I've gone the last 2 years and it's been tons of fun. I'm actually not going to the Radio Dept show, (as much as I want to) because I'll be hanging out/visiting a few friends.

I think there needs to be more Velocity Girl fans. They're too wonderful to be forgotten!

Thank you. Clara's a Toronto based artist, writer of slow paced, gloomy folk-tinged music. In sound, comparisons with late period (non-experimental) Swans, Current 93, Antony could be considered more than tangential, while not 100% accurate. Her singing voice is a pretty unique and emotional alto. She's got three albums, one EP, and one more album on the way (as well as the main vocal bit in Aidan Baker's Liminoid)

Awesome, thank you! I hope I get to see him live some day, but this is certainly second best. I recently stumbled unto this artist - being a Phos fan I think you might like. http://www.myspace.com/holysons Check out "Gnostic Device" and "Satanic Androids"

Why thanks:) Dandi Wind is a duo from Montreal; Dandi, who sings and makes props/animations, and Szam, who handles the music. They play arty, new wavey, electronic music that's sort of hard to classify (but is rather catchy).
