Hi, I usually visit all my lastfm-friends a bit closer to new year to check out what they have been listening during the last 12 months. And at the same time leave some tips on what I have discovered last year. But anyhow here I'm now.:D. Late in the year I found [artist]Caitlin Canty[/artist] thru Kickstarter. Other discoveries during the year was [artist]Lake Street Dive[/artist], [artist]Austin Lucas[/artist], [artist]Nora Jane Struthers & The Party Line[/artist] and [artist]Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors[/artist] A band I'm looking forward to see live is [artist]JP Harris & The Tough Choices[/artist] But I still come back to my old heroes [artist]Van Morrison[/artist] and [artist]Emmylou Harris[/artist]. Listened to almost all of their albums during 2014. Have a great 2015.

Yeah, the Allah-Las album was one of my faves of 2012. Passed up the chance to see them the last time they came to Liverpool (before I'd even heard the album. I hadn't actually heard of them even at the time). Was a bit of a regret, but so glad I checked them out the other night. Only heard good things about them live and they don't disappoint. Enjoyed the new material, and they finished with a b-side from their next single. Superb! I see you might be going to that Close Lobsters gig. You see that support band Grabbel and The Final Cut? I'm friends with the lead singer on last.fm & Facebook. True story. I could probably have a word in his ear and guestlist you...

Cheers for the friend request. "Nice library" is often a cliched reply, but in this instance it's perfectly appropriate!

Thanks! i'll check them out. Not many albums have blown me away this year. Wire's new one is real good though, as is Nick Cave's. James Blake's 'Overgrown' is definitely worth a listen too. And i think based on your charts you might like Edwyn Collins' new album. It's pretty solid, if not very memorable. As far as older albums go, i'd say if you like Scottish singing (how can you not!?), you can't go wrong with Arab Strap's 'Monday At The Hug And Pint', or Malcolm Middleton's 'Into The Woods'.

You and I seem to attend a number of the same gigs. Maybe you're stalking me. Maybe not, but that's not a chance I'm willing to take.

The Coral have lost some of their quirkiness so I would think this gives them broader appeal! Roots & Echoes is my fave as well. I don't think they've properly toured the States yet! Yes looking forward to the new Lightships. So happens my favorite TFC song is the Love-penned 'Time Stops' !

I saw them for the first time in Berlin last Saturday and they blew my mind - I bet tonight's not going to be any different so have fun! Edinburgh is my favourite place to be, I'm kinda wishing I could be there for this. Do you live in Edinburgh or are you just travelling for live music? Anyways yeah, have fun tonight! :)

We made the trip to Salford last year (my girlfriends a huge Smiths fan too... obviously!), just before I moved to Sweden. It's well worth a visit there, especially if you follow the tour in a great book called Morrisseys Manchester. Ditto the excellent taste, with a few artists I'll have to check out too.
