I'm really confused.. so many emotion and tunes in head - I heard only preview of Shine On, sounds good but I need a whole album. Merchant gives me the shivers, so powerful music, ideas, concept for completely new work (after so many years) - tough to describe. Tori breaks my heart - king of May.

Hey, Dominic, thank you for the link! I really appreciate the help, and I'm going to check it in a bit. I guess I'm not the first person to whine about how disorganised that part of her discography is, right? :)

PS I only discovered Glen and Mar the other day... had the movie (Once) for ages, but only recently got the nerve to watch it... I had a feeling it was going to be a heart-wrencher ; ) Their music IS beautiful...

GREAT find! I think I know the song from hearing her jam it live but I dunno while I'm tempted to listen I think I'm going to try to wait it out until I can hear/buy the entire record. 1 song is such a tease and Ithaca's going to be rather epic! I have no doubt whatsoever. I'm going to the album release show in New York and have a direct front-row spot, should be PERFECT!

Yeah he's really terrific, isn't he?! I started with the masterpiece of the self-titled then onto the amazing Daylight and now I'm totally HOOKED on Whisper House!!! I actually got more interested in his music after reading on Paula's old blog how she was really into his Daylight album when it came out, so obviously the 2 are familiar with one another. Think they're both friends and share the Kevin Killen/Jay Bellerose connection. Both are 2 very talented people with some vague similiarites but very unique in their own right. A collaboration together definitely would be something special!

I don't know if you'll like it, but my band just got some recordings of a live show we did a little while ago. It isn't our best, but hey. Just thought you might be interested in your future student's creative expression.

I'm hoping to go! Still have to buy tickets but I requested off work and everything. I'm just poor as heck. My summer is pretty good, but I'm excited to get back because I'm taking an advanced creative writing class and I have high hopes for it. How are you? How are your classes (you are taking some, right?)

Hello, Yes, I stole its title for my portfolio, :D although it inspired me in a different way then than it does now. Hope you're having a good summer. My summer has been very unexpected so far, and packed with learning. I read the book you gave me once, I have yet to understand half of it! Maybe I need to read it 39 more times. :D But I can tell you that since reading it, I haven't written anything, or at least, I haven't finished anything. I have just been reading and reading and reading even more. I am leaving for Iran in a few days and I plan on writing a lot there. I can't wait to share with you what I write, if you have time to read it! :)

i had never heard of passion pit...i downloaded that album (manners) and aside from a few songs where the vocals are distracting it was good and i put the remaining tracks into a developmental playlist for further listening (it takes a couple months for songs to sink in). speak of that, from your last cd, the top tracks that i really liked were beach baby (bon iver), i won't be found (the tallest man...), jocasta (Noah and the whale), and ghosts (laura marling). I'm actually going to bonaroo, so i will be seeing passion pit, who follow chairlift...and speaking of chairlift, i included one of their tracks on a new cd i made for you "soothing summer serenade". swing by the pool and pick it up sometime. -alex

That's very cool, I just got into her maybe 5 months ago but I feel it too was an amazing discovery and really powerful music to listen to at this age (same as you 18 when I first started listening to her). Basically know the entire catalogue now and still can't get enough of it. I think I was just too young to be able to appreciate something as brilliant as her music when it was at it's height of popularity. But her songs have such incredible depth, her voice is so heavenly and she's really just a ridiculously talented overall writer/musician/producer. I'm so happy she's returned to music, she's just a good human being. Saw her last month and chatted for a few, it was so awesome. I plan on seeing 2 more shows next month..
