Hmmm, yep, I haven't found another band that comes close to Oceansize yet. Jakob are good stuff, as are PT, Pineapple Thief (variations on a dream, 137, haven't heard their newest one), Amplifier, even a bit of Pure Reason Revolution. I've been meaning to check out Anathema too (they keep coming up on similar artists to good bands). Also, I think you might like a couple of tunes by an Aussie band called Sleep Parade. Give "Weeping Walls" and "Everyday" a listen here (http://www.myspace.com/sleepparade) if you get the chance. They're just starting out so they're a bit rusty but they've got some Oceansize vibes going for them. Cheers!

low isn't really post-rock, and gybe doesn't exist anymore, but yeah, better than mogwai and eits in my mind. they have so much more sonic versatility. maybe they didn't make sense till i saw them live.....but now i get it and they're literally perfect

Do Make Say Think is officially the best post-rock band that still exists. Get addicted, my friend.

That would totally be worth it. I'm locked in the US sadly so I'll have to wait for them to come here.....which can't come soon enough.

nashville, tn. that's where i go to school. when i'm in ohio roadtrips to philly or chicago are a bit more tangible. don't think that duo is coming to philly, but shit, you get Red Sparowes in march, Mono in may, and Caspian in april. lucky dog, nearly all the good bands float your way.
