Does the Universal Scrobbler still work these days? I removed it a while ago as it stopped scrobbling the selected/highlighted songs on iTunes. Thanks.

Hi there! Could You help me with Your Universal Scrobbler? first question is does it works properly? not like default shitty LastFM app?:D I got files of US from invitationstation.org, but there are not any manual and comments - when it was updated last time? and what should I do with files inside? I have an experience with Apple Scripts, but usually it was Manual file and Script or App file, there is both types of files - I should put them into Scripts folder or file with App extension in Apps? Plz, help.

HI there, Thanks for creating Universal Scrobbler, Just wanted to report about a bug which is breaking the scrobblling whenever there is a "&" in artist name and track name. Cheers.

How do I apply your script to iTunes? I'm sorry I'm not a programmer - I'm not very well-versed in these things. Just leave me a shout on my old account BOY_9113.

Hello! I love your UniversalScrobbler I use it for m accidentally lost tracks and it rules. I've got a question, still. Could you make it possible to add a time stamp too? Many lost tracks are a couple of days ago and I'd like to maintain the continuity of an album or certain playlists in order. It's not a major issue, but it would be great. Thank you!

Hey there. I've been using your iTunes scrobbler a bit to scrobble stuff I listen to in my car on CDs and such, or when the iPod scrobbling feature doesn't work. I was wondering, though, is there a way to add a custom timestamp to my scrobbles? Even if it means opening up Script Editor and sticking it in there manually each time? I'm just not sure how it would be done. I don't care that much if I'm adding stuff I listened to earlier in the day -- thats close enough. But I was hoping to add a bunch of plays for the CDs I keep in the car with me a lot, since I know a lot of that has never been accounted for, and I don't really want last.fm to show that I've played those songs a million times this week. Ha.

I like Joywave better, but The Hoodies is fun too. My favorite is also "Electric Choir". So good.

My "friends loved tracks" notified me that you've been enjoying The Hoodies (aka Joywave). I have too. Glad someone else appreciates them.

Was that me who recommended them? Cool. They're so good. I see you're also enjoying Deas Vail's new album. I saw them in concert with Mae, their show is so good and so is that new album.

Hey, it looks like I solved the problem... in the urlencode function all chars over asci code 122 are encoded, but this is unnecessary. Resulting in the following: ... else if (eachCharNum ≠ 42) and (eachCharNum ≠ 95) and (eachCharNum < 45 or eachCharNum > 46) and (eachCharNum < 48 or eachCharNum > 57) and (eachCharNum < 65 or eachCharNum > 90) and (eachCharNum < 97) then ... so just remove the last 'or eachCharNum > 122'. I have not tested this much, but it seems to work in leaving the accented characters alone and the get submitted to lfm properly.

Hey man, cool script you made to scrobble from itunes with applescript. It has a slight bug though, when submitting songs with accented characters, they are scrobbled wrong, for example [artist]Quantic And His Combo Brbaro[/artist] I dont know if this is easily fixed, but I hope so.

You're welcome. And thank you too. Besides Ben and James, the other folks on my sidebar (besides me and my friends) are: Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater, Will Sheff of Okkervil River, Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes, Blake Sennett & Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley, Ryan Adams, Colin Meloy of The Decemberists and Jimmy Tamborello of The Postal Service and Dntel.

Hey, yes we do! Have fun at Mae tonight, I'll be seeing them in a couple weeks. Also, what songs do you recommend by The Decemberists? I believe they're playing at my college at the end on of the month.

Hey! No problem! I love those things, they're fun. And, I know what it's like when people don't comment on them and leave half of the quiz unfinished ;P lol.

Hey man I love Search The City, I bought their CD last fall and loved it. I'm guessing you already know who they are, but if you like Search The City then you should check out Ivoryline, they're sweet too.

Wow, I'm really surprised that I like jonathan jones. I can't stand We Shot the Moon or Waking Ashland and the reason I don't like them is that I find the vocals weak and whiny and annoying. It's a bit strange that I should like the music made by the vocalist. Hmm... maybe I should go back and give those bands another chance. Thanks for the rec!

That makes sense about Dave. I wish I could play the piano so bad. Hmmm, I love Keane. In my opinion their best song is "Nothing in My Way." I also enjoy "Can't Stop Now," "Your Eyes open", and several others. Do you have any recommendations for me?

Yeah, it's probably not possible, but I can keep hoping. I just wish Rob hadn't left. Dave can play the piano, but either he can't or chooses not to play as well as Rob. Ha. The "About me" is slightly sappy/sefl indulgent, but I'm to lazy to change it; plus, a lot of it is true. You're seeing Mae and Coldplay!? Arggh, so jealous. I love both of them sooo much. As far as I can tell neither of them come very close to me.

Yeah, the new songs are good. I was disappointed in Singularity, so it's great to see them heading back toward their roots. I don't think they'll ever go back to The Everglow, but the new songs are good too. I've really been enjoying them as they've come out.

Hey! I loved "Son of a Gun" and bought the single before the album came out. When it did, I thought I would love it, but I was a bit disappointed. "Son of a Gun" is pure amazing, and the rest of the songs are good, but not as amazing. I still listen to them though. Have you been enjoying the new monthly Mae songs?

wow! you and I have like the same taste in music. And I agree with you about the Everglow. It's my favorite album ever. i usually say that Mae is my favorite band, but its wierd because neither of their other CDs are very good, and I pretty much just like The everglow, but its so good that it overpowers everything else. :) keep listening to good music!
