I remember when we were Super. You've changed, man. Or...maybe I've changed. Perhaps we've both just deviated slightly in differing directions.

I've never cancelled a friend request in my entire existence on the internet!! I definitely sent you one, so I'm not sure how the cancel-y situation happened :/ Let's try this again...

I am definitely biased. My heart loves Ohio. (I'm such a nostalgic, homebody sap). And Toledo area notwithstanding, its pretty damn beautiful place. We've had a good run; I'm gonna miss it.

I drove (sort of) by Ball State the other day, on my way back from Chicago; Indiana is very flat! haha.

believe it or not, I'm not hip enough (or too hip?) for dem hipsters, haha. (kidding). but for real--the Deacon bit I just sampled is pretty intense (in a good way). Thanks again for the suggestion. These guys are fun, and sort-of new: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfI_dcH1d9U (their studio album is a bit more upbeat than semi-acoustic version, but there's something charming about the fernery). Also, I just perused your artists and you have very few female vocalists! Gotta support your lady-friends. I'd suggest the Mynabirds. Recent sign to Saddle Creek records. Not too slow/singer-songwriter-y at all. (And thanks for tolerating/appreciating my rambles!)

Modest Mouse is my favorite! (Ok, well, they're in the top 3). And Holy Fuck is good. Also, I caught The Go! Team back in high school at the Kuyahoga (mini) fest. They put on a great show! I have never heard of Dan Deacon! I will have to check him out :) Thanks! also-- my friend Geoff just sent me these guys today, and the turned my struggle-bus around: http://shakeygraves.bandcamp.com/album/roll-the-bones. Hope you like 'em. In his words: "the first track will melt your heart" !!

Musical evolution is allowed! What are some of your favs these days? Any suggestions? And yeah, that show was a bit much. (maybe too much cooing). Also, as an audience member, I'm not big on "participation games," namely because--if I'm into the music--I'll be participating in my own right, without prompting. Ah well-- not the worst 15 dollars I ever spent; it gave me an excuse to break up my week, and make a quasi-road trip with some pretty damned fabulous people.

I sort-of grew up in a musical community, and then I ventured off to Appalachia to get an education, and found myself listening to a lot more folk (the good kind), and a lot less brit pop. Athens has an amazing music scene; it's also the kind of place that attracts community-oriented, socially-conscious people who use music as a unificatory tool. I'm sorry you're musically isolated! With the indie scene, it's sometimes not b/c folks don't like what you listen to--it's b/c they've never heard it. They might just be waiting for you to convert them... haha, who knows? Also--that is funny that we are near-perfect, b/c I'm not the hugest fan of some of your top artists. Still, very cool. We must both just be very eclectic :] I'm glad you made a new friend out of the concert, too!

Hello! I noticed you visited my last.fm page, and figured it was b/c we both went to the Akron/Fam show, but then I saw that you're friends with my best friend Drew on here, and figured I'd say hello//see if you know each other in real life, too :] so--yeah! hello!

Thanks, I think you have some super taste as well. I'd say if you want some good pre-Margot stuff you should check out their early band Archer Avenue if you haven't listened to them before.

I'm not a fan of either of them. I'd like to see Wolf Parade play, but the closest they're coming to me is New Jersey, and I hav eno way of getting there.

SO GOOD. They played a bunch of songs, then a five-song encore. I was disappointed that I didn't hear "Parting of the Sensory," but "The Whale Song" made up for it.

I really don't know how big the crowd is going to be, but considering the show is in Brooklyn I'm assuming it's going to be rather large. It's also an outside event, which is neat. I'd love to hear "The Whale Song" live.

Not until the 29th August so I've still got a while to wait! I'm definitely planning on getting as near the front as possible, I've been to the venue before and got front row pretty easily so I don't think I'll have too much trouble! If we're lucky enough to get talking shit about a pretty sunset then I'm going to video it for sure :D

Aww, that's a shame :/ When I go to see them it'll be their third show in three days- maybe that will make them want to change the setlist around a bit and pull out some more obscure tracks... this might just be wishful thinking on my part of course! Still, I'm sure hearing tiny cities live is pretty darn incredible so as long as that is played I won't be complaining too much : )

How was Modest Mouse?! What was the setlist like? I really hope they still play a lot of songs from the Moon & Antarctica, I think it's always going to be my favourite MM album : ) I don't know anyone else here who has even heard of them which is heartbreaking when they make such amazing music.
