I think maybe you should try her from her newer albums, judging from your music taste (it was how I got into her too). So go for the album "Togawa Fiction", it's pretty wild/proggy. Another band you may wanna check out is Midori. They kinda remind me of Tokyo Jihen mixed with completely batshit hardcore punk.

Jun Togawa is like Ringo prototype from 80s... not so much alike... but equally groundbreaking/non cliche jap music.

Start with Hachimitsu and Souvenir. Then Fake Fur. Those are the three biggest/most popular and also (the first two at least) the best imo. Their debut is also pretty charming.

Yeah it's crazy. I definitely remember seeing you all over those shoutboxes. I think I even remember you posted an album you made once.

Checked out Selected Ambient Works 85-92 and definitely like that one. I grabbed Selected Ambient Works II as well, and yeah it definitely has some good and bad stuff. Still glad I grabbed it. I like 9 of songs of the 25 from that one. Thanks for suggesting all that! :) Still need to check out Chroma Key. I'll get to that eventually.

I'll definitely check them out. I can always pick out the ones I like and ones I don't like. :) Same with Chroma Key, will have to check out multiple albums over time and see which I like better. Ahhh ok. I don't mind glitch in certain ambient works like in This Binary Universe by BT... I love that album. That isn't exactly what I'd call crackly and staticy though, haha. Anyway, I appreciate the suggestions! :)

Yeah, Goodbye doesn't have as 'warm' of a sound as ASIP. I have ASIP, Far Away Trains Passing By, and Goodbye of his, and I love them all. Yep, I am certainly into electronic ambient, but I'm interested in any ambient really. I have Aphex Twin's song "Stone in Focus", and I really love that one. What other ambient work by him is good? I've heard that some of his ambient work is a bit darker/creepier, and I'm not all that into that sort of stuff. What album should I check out by Chroma Key first? I do like 'sound scape' type stuff, yep! Though I've listened to a few tracks from Endless Summer and they seem to have a lot of crackly/static noises in them, which I'm not a fan of. Take that out and I'd like it though, haha. Does Fennesz have any stuff that doesn't have any or much of the static/crackle noises in it?

Thank you, sir! You have tons of great stuff in your charts! Schauss is awesome. Found him earlier this year, and it was a fantastic find! I'm listening to a lot of ambient-ish stuff currently for health reasons (well, and because I enjoy listening to it of course!), so if you know anything ambient-ish or even just some chill stuff that isn't in my charts you think I'd like, let me know! :)

Shit man. That's a tough break. Purgatory's pretty lame, especially the way they showed it in Lost and---OH WAIT A SECOND, I SAW YOU LOITERING SUSPICIOUSLY IN THE LIBRARY TODAY. YOU ARE ALL LIES. I am getting up in six hours, fuck this shit, I need sleep. Bipolar Lastfm is way mad bipolar YOU DIDN'T EXPLAIN MESHUGGAH. Bye.

What is this "Meshuggah" you speak of though, Hopkins? Link me to some sort of profile that is beneficial to me re: them. Or. Whatever. I'm hungover. Did I do anything unnecessarily embarrassing other than spill beer on myself and yell at everyone? That's a pretty good tally, for me, I figure. I HOPE YOU GUYS GOT HOME AND DIDN'T DIE.

The love hearts were a really nice touch!!!! We had a conversation about drug habits in my car once. Anyway, my conclusion is: I am too happy today to argue, which is weird and wrong, SO I'MMA JUST LEAVE THIS HERE. BAIIIII EVANNNNNNNN.

So what I gather is: 1. you either think it is so bad that you need to smoke weed to enjoy it, or 2. You think that you can only enjoy ambient music GENERALLY by smoking weed. For the record, no, I don't smoke weed, and DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GET INTO ANOTHER ARGUMENT ABOUT DRUG HABITS, HOPKINS?!??!! Because I'm pretty sure you don't. SO SHUT IT. Hope you're well.

HURRY UP AND LISTEN TO SOME GRINDCORE/THRASHCORE/HARDCORE/SOMETHING-ELSE-CORE, QUICKLY. This sameness is freaking me out. I didn't know who Stephen Colbert was until I looked him up. But then I got lazy and couldn't be bothered reading. Do explain? P.S. I think I saw you today in the basement, but then I didn't see you, but I did but I didn't. You know. So I didn't say hi. Etc.

Hey, hey, HEY, EVAN, HEYYYY. I only hang around stoners SOME OF THE TIME. And they're the kind of stoners who refuse to listen to music like G'n'R because it's not indie enough for them. They're wayyyyy too scene for that. AND YOU JUST LISTED LIKE A BUNCH OF MY LEAST FAVOURITE SONGS EVER. I TOLD YOU WE COULDN'T DISCUSS THIS BAND. NOW I AM GOING TO TURN INTO A SEA MONSTER BEAST OF RAGE.

UGhghghghghghghghghhg. You know how sometimes I pay out bands that I don't like and then the other person defends them, and then my voice gets more and more high pitched and louder and louder and I get angrier and angrier until I'm just arguing for the sake of arguing? If we talk about Slash, that will happen. Because my hate for Guns 'n' Roses comes from the same place as my hate for Bon Jovi. AND THAT IS A DARK, DARK PLACE. But I can't believe a kid actually offered you a $2000 guitar for that. WHAT? You should've totes taken it.

I know, but, thinking up insults in relation to other things you listen to would take time and effort, and you know how I feel about that. I'd discuss Slash with you further too, but... well... we both know how that would end. OH HEY THOUGH. You should listen to Kaki King, she is ace. In a folky-lesbian-American-guitarist way.

what a shit person. I'm just replying now. I will take your word on Jay Kay issue, I just think he's a little bit of a wanker. Has some nice cars, though! Regina is amazing. I don't even have a favourite album, because they're all amazing. And I have nothing else interesting to say.

argh argh. My father keeps promising me a Macbook, so I will sort all this scrobbling business out if/when I get it. My desktop is too narcoleptic to deal with anything so stressful. I have all three of Regina's studio albums, a cd of b sides and stuff, her duet with the Strokes, her guest on that Ben Folds track, and two versions of her doing "Real Love". I quite like Regina Spektor, and think you should buy her new album - as with the other ones, I prefer the album tracks to the singles, but there's some excellent stuff on there. ps Jamiroquai? Really?
