Oops - big scrobbling gap when I got a new computer and forgot to reinstall the scrobbler. Ah well, my tastes haven't changed massively in the past month :-)

Hi, I just noticed your blue jay whilst roaming around Bandcamp and picking up the most recent fernhill album. I knew the earlier work of Julie Murphy before the move to Wales, but not her recent work. So I am having a Welsh listening day today! I also bought Plavi Avion a while ago based on listening here to your music. I continue to find Last.fm a useful place to exchange great new ideas. Have a happy Christmas and a great 2015.

A nice wee drone there! It's coming up for the time of year I usually read Riddley... but I'm still working my way through Stephen King's 'IT'. I'm OK ta, aside from coming down with a bit of a lurgie. How about you? And in the interest of musical sharing, have you heard this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sqKv6tAWHg DEE's playing guitar on the album and this one in particular reminded me of SRS...

I need a regular visit to Anouar Brahem, particulaly the Astounding Eyes of Rita. I would really like to see them live, but I missed the limited tour he did with the trio that recored that album. Still there will be another experiment along sometime soon;-). I am currently listening a lot to Jon Balke's 'Siwan' album, which is in a similar vein, albeit with different instrumentation. The singer is Amina Alaoui, and the whole feel is far away from his jazz records. You might care to check it out for late night lights-out listening.

Hi, I bought the 1651 cd years ago and only recently replayed it and I will try and remember not to ignore it for so long this time. Yes I am really enjoying Turbines. It was only the second album of theirs I bought. Listened to the first one soon after its release and did not get into it at all - so a long time went by until I heard And Then We Saw Land - seemed like a different band. I am off to see them in around 10 days.

Great charts & library, I see we overlap on some generally ignored artists such as 1651, Gabriel Yacoub and Malicorne as well as some that are better known. I should see what else there is by listening into your library sometime

I doubt it's coincidence. I thought the same thing about the track Maize. Have you heard the live album?

How do stranger? Have you heard the new Woven Hand? I've been playing it pretty consistently over this year. You don't seem to have scrobbled it....shocker!

Hiya - yes, i was thinking the same time, long time no speak. I think Dogan Mehmet was recommended to me by some gig website. I booked to go and see him but it was the December of the year before last when we had all the snow and i wasn't able to get there. Downloaded his album instead and i love it - love the mixture of southern English and Turkish Cypriot folk music. Feels natural and sincere. Have also been listening to a fair bit of Eliza Carthy in recent months. Love the song "Worcester City". How are you anyhow?

Yes, sounds perfect, thank you. Sorry for responding so late, it's final week so I've barely been online. I normally send cds, are you down with that? Or do you do digital. If it's the latter, I'm willing to try but you'll have to walk me through it. Just let me know :)

Just me being a div again then! Actually, I think the Cutty Wren is on one of the first playlists you sent me (since lost) so thanks for the re-send. I've been recently enjoying Ougenweide and Malicorne too. The blog background is from Splendor Solis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splendor_Solis, the whole series of paintings is here http://www.levity.com/alchemy/splensol.html. I like the way it looks but it might be a little too intrusive on the text. What do you think? I can't figure out how to take the transparency from the text box.
