Welcome to 2014. For the new year, I'm suggesting music that my friends might find amusing. For you, it's The Band Who Knew Too Much http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r2C5aE7uak

Huge Swamptrash fan! Finally ripped the vinyl of 'It Makes No Never Mind' and 'Bone'. Could you give me the name/title of the Hex record. (Any info!) Been trying to track it down for years with no luck. Thanks. Cheers from Chicago. Clark

Yes, I Iike the howling sleepers, although amarok seems to like them even more. I lived in Cardiff in 89 and we came back to Oz with one of their records.

I don't usually log into last.fm to see things, but yes, Boiled In Lead just plain rocks. Their live show is fantastic. Looking at the rest of your top artists, you could almost be me. Are you me?

Ah, I've heard them in ensembles on CD occasionally, such as in personal fave [artist]Hesperion XX[/artist] but never gotten to see a hurdy-gurdy in action! BTW speaking of bagpipes- they often get a bad rep (like fruitcake), yet well-played bagpipes are worth hearing too, esp live!

By hurdy-gurdy do you like the bagpipe-y drone one or the organ grinder one? Both interesting instruments with confusing name overlap!

Hi Howard, indeed! I've been meaning to check out the jawharp/jew's harp and harmonium/melodica type tags and see those on your own list! You have some quiry instruments there, heh.

Best avatar ever! :) BTW You've inspired me to start tagging some tracks quirky as opposed to say, novelty.
