I love your write-up of Big Gigantic. Wow, what a stage presence. I just saw 'em for the first time two nights ago in Oklahoma City, supposedly their last stop on the tour, and they did a THREE-SONG ENCORE! Phenomenal energy! What's been your favorite live show? P.S. coming to SXSW here in Austin??

I had never heard it :O It's quite amazing so thanks for the share :) I heard a few tracks of Blockhead but not that much... if you can recommend an album, that'd be nice. I must say, I'm thrilled that you enjoy Ninja Tune ^-^

Hey! Yeah, the ReadMOD contest was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to the next one, this January. I started really listening to Japanese music this summer, and I've been surprised at how much there is that I actually like. I still listen to some English stuff, but I've been focusing on limiting that as much as possible, for maximum Japanese input. And, yeah, I'm always open to recommendations. You can never have too much music. :D

I tried linking the last.fm page but the link was over 100 characters long (due to kanji) so I deleted my comment and went for tiny url but when I tried posting again, it would freeze. I tried later on and same thing. Hopefully this message will go through ô.O I tried other walls and it was working... but yes, that's the song! Thanks for the rec ^-^

Yeah that's by far my all time favorite song from VS - the gramophone voice makes it a masterpiece imho. Check out the entire album Rossz Csillag Alatt Született; it's in a seperate category all on its own! Szamar Madar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rjyVF6a4xo) and Hajnal are quite good as well.

Thanks so much for the supportive comments. I'm lucky in that I have lots of opportunities to travel to Japan but not many people in Canada/US can afford to do the same. It's for cool people like you that I'm doing this tour (even though I lose a sh*tload of money). Hope you enjoy the show and your visit north of the border. I definitely plan to bring 凛として時雨 on future tours and it may likely happen April 2010.

i've been axing a lot of stuff from my library lately, mostly just things that I grew out of or things that never really grabbed me that much to begin with... So i'm definitely looking for fresh artists to replace them! let me know if you have a favorite not in my library that you think I might like!

Your a lot better about listing to all of your music than i am. I have about 20gb (4,500+) songs but only listen to about half of it.

some stats: my current library is 2022 songs, 16.9 GB in size, 210h42m in duration. I currently listen to 1646 (81%) of the library, which is 13.3GB / 133h02m. The remaining 19% is marked with a "do not play" tag for varying reasons including "don't want it to play in random", "the song is very short", "the song is just someone talking", "i don't like this band anymore", etc. I periodically remove music from my computer after it has been marked as "do not play" for an extended period of time.

Is ゆらゆら帝國 similar to OYA? If so I'm getting that in a heartbeat. I actually listened to a picture of her about a month or two ago, yep, definitely very good stuff. Need them to make more albums now haha. I may have a recommendation for you. Try listening to People in the Box. The usual rockish sound, and I think pretty clear vocals as well. That's if my memory serves me right. アネモネ and アナログフィッシュ are pretty kick-ass rock/indie bands too. Discovered both of them within last month. :)

glad you liked them. :) andymori is a grower for sure, took me a while to appreciate them too. I'm listening to more instrumentals and vocaloids recently though, but I still am interested in フジファブリック. Should I pick them up? I tried ミドリ, they sounded garage-y. I need to actually listen to their stuff more but I never did got around to it haha. If you like Spangle Call Lilli Line, go listen to their side projects! NINI TOUNUMA is the lead singer's, and 点と線 is the band's. While for 相対性理論, the lead singer did a solo. Search her name: えつこやくしまる or something. I only remember えつこ for sure.

They're definitely baller! I should mention I've been hooked to Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, and should have checked them out CENTURIES ago. So damn good.
