Yes, my favorite season's upon us. So I'm not familiar with Kafka's work, and sadly only learned more about him when I once looked up info on the group Josef K! Are you a fan on his work, or just specifically that book, you're not really a hunger artist?! Hope you're enjoying the tunes, I love 8tracks!

'Welcome Back'! Sounds COLD! Just got back from a much needed mini-holiday with family and some friends. I'm not working right now, but it's amazing how I wish I had more hours in a day. Bummer about the TCS shows. I also missed their acoustic show here as well. It kills me not to be able to support the bands I love. Such is life. Intriguing avvy, one day you'll need to shed light on your avvy name as well, I've never asked. Keep well, BK!

Heh that's funny! I had another look-see at the AS forum as I'd heard about the subscription thing coming up. I use sharetunes (which is only real-time scrobbling for your own itunes library) so the radio streaming thing was never really an issue, I seldom use it even when i'm listening on the compy.) Did you have to attempt to stream radio from your iphone to get any email? I'm not cool enough to get an invite, ha! (My ipod touch wants to be an iphone when it grows up one day :p)

Guess I won't complain about the record overnight lows we had here last week! Here's a teaser for the new BSP single, that is slowly growing on me. (Although I think the actual clip is now out I read.) http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?xl=xl_blazer&v=-lrofDd03BU

This week was a blur! Which is a good thing, because CF play their last show tonight. The San Diego was great, they are a bunch of nice guys and they sounded great. Oh Chicago! Been there once, years ago, it's beautiful. Hope they make their way there one day, ha, will you still be there?? Definitely check out SeanceMascara's website. Some great recordings on there, especially local bands I might not have discovered otherwise, like Dick Diver! I missed the TCS show last night. Family commitments--it's just tough during the week sometimes. :( Happy Halloween!

BK! Glad to know I haven't had to clear out yer cobwebs on here ;) How's things? I'm hoping to make another trip to see them. Mid-week's always tricky with family and stuff. I definitely feel spoiled by their touring though. Isn't that private party they'll be playing at a great thing? Wish it were mine, wow!

How are you these days? Oh I see some top-notch tracks. Especially the Brunettes whom I really love and came across by accident. I like the new Nick Lowe stuff too. Have you ever had to deal with emusic support? Crap service, I've had a lot of problems with the new dlm recently.

That's it--I'm going to have to search out some more KOD. Hey our resident A&R man trashcansinatra has put Andrew Morgan on my radar screen. Check his website out: http://andrewwarrenmorgan.com/home.html Beaauuutiful stuff, especially the new one, Please Kid Remember. And did you complete the emusic end of yr survey? A bit tough as few of my favorite 09 releases are not available on there.

Oh good, you like it! It is my favorite BSP album, though I enjoy them all. I remember a KOD mention, I didn't listen to any of them until Ray (trashcansinatra) pointed me in the right direction recently. They do have some beautiful music as I'm still discovering. They are a better comparison to KOD, on surface, than the dreaded Arcade Fire/Joy Division one which, isn't that what people want when looking to compare music, a quick reference? I have the KOD comp, what other songs would you recommend? Well if not cutting edge, definitely under the radar! But, I'm always looking for music, new or old. Is there anything in particular you're looking for when in the hunt for music?

If you still have credits I would recommend British Sea Power's Open Season. With a guarantee of credits gifted back to you if you don't enjoy it, of course! It's not nearly cool enough out here, except for the nights, finally. I bet it's startintg to feel winter-like up your way though.

There's no one real place. I guess soulseek's the most popular but I don't use it (we're mac users). I like searching the blogs on the net, it's almost a challenge, I've found lots of stuff that way. And the odd gift/exchange from people on the internet. But it's been a long accumulation over time. I buy cd's and vinyl for special groups only nowadays. Yes, now that Moz is slated for SD we're planning to go. Going to Universal Studios in L.A. did not appeal to me.

Ha ha, good analogy there. Are you a subscriber or do you browse their catalog? I'm continuously impressed with what I'm able to find there, though their search engines are not always helpful. Yeah, I love Sly Hats, it does come down to the voice and guitar, makes you appreciate the stuff even more since the music is so beautifully pared down.

Glen Hansard and Co are coming out with a new album I've read. I really love his stuff. And I see I have another Monkey Swallows the Universe I can download, thanks for the tip. Oh, I didn't know that one by Nat Johnson was also available as a download! 2 unexpected freebies!... Well, TCS's N. Amer tour come and gone in the blink of an eye!

Nice! It's great they're trying out new things like the flash drive of the show. And what an opportunity for them to be doing Daytrotter!...Death Disco! I love PiL for their percussion and deep bass lines. And so it seems the only Cake we're getting from the tour is on our playlists.
