Golden Plains is not to missed, worth the saving. Sydney sounds as expected festival wise, still some decent acts there.. I'm heading to sleigh bells Friday, I hear their sets heavy, looking forward to it..

ohhhhh nah I just got into Karin from Fever Ray, I do like the knife! just dont have them on my computer, but i shall have to upload! Seriously obsessed with her Fever Ray album, so barks up my tree when it comes to things i like to hear! its very massive attack, very dark and i tend to love bands that have cryptic lyrics. i swear music on the radio is just dumbed down for 10 year olds...hahaha and dont steal my idea, im seriously contemplating a radiohead tattoo been thinking about it for a really long time. You dont even understand how much I adore that goddamn band. Theyre just my be all and end all! Jeff Buckley is also my greatest love, but yeah, im a bit of a nerd when it comes to music, i just lock myself up in my room listening to tunes all night and all day, i probably need a mental assessment or something haha

i've been hearing yeasayer hype for a while now, gave it a listen and don't understand the radio play at all. those warbling vocals on ambling alp make me feel weird/uneasy.. in fact that whole track feels like its out at a choppy sea. why is nova sending it out to the masses? what are your thoughts cause i notice you're listening a fair bit?

I currently don't have tickets, I know they opened a 2nd show, and I suspect all the standing room is taken for the two shows. Dunno if its worth getting seats at Festival Hall. Undecided

I was stoked with last night's set. More than made up for the 1/2 hour set supporting DEP - Jeffrey couldn't get a mic to work for a whole song that night. Apathy was what they played instead of Loved Ones, which I REALLY wanted to hear them play. User octobers-advent went nuts for Slice Paper Wrists, I would have gone berserk if they played Loved Ones. Closing with Artist's Rendering Of Me and Nerdy was awesome, they get everyone riled up.

Whilst I like all the bands you listed, I do tire of the constant drone after a while. Neurosis to a lesser extent. I'm a bit more inclined to steer towards High on Fire and bands that mix the droning sludge onslaughts with some speed and abrasion. Whilst we are on this theme though, Black Cobra were fucking amazing at the Forum last week. The White Stripes of thunderous doom haha

Indeed sir, Ween were one of the hardest bands I found to get into, but when you find whichever album it is that hooks u, they'll be you're favourite band as the rest unravel themselves. Soundwave hooks for me in order Faith No More, Anthrax, Meshuggah, Clutch, ISIS, Jane's Addiction, Eagles of Death Metal, Anvil, Reel Big Fish...and a band I recently decided I like very much, Baroness (We share a common last.fm band in Mastodon so you may also like Baroness)...any new album purchases that blew your head off? or live gigs that shattered your spine?

Yeah my mate had the tickets so I had to wait for him to arrive so missed both supports. I got to go to the Corner Hotel gig though, which was pretty awesome. I got goose bumps when he played Atlantic City, it's the Springsteen song he was meant to play. Then Clint and Steph came out and played Pinstripe for the encore, that was fantastic too. So I at least got to go to the good gig before the disappointment of the Karova one.

Hey, what did you think of the Paul Dempsey gig? Rocked up too late and couldn't get near the stage and got stuck near the bar. Couldn't hear the music over the people talking half the time, not cool.

Thanks, you've got quite an amazing list yourself. I love that new radiohead track - reminds me of kid a/amnesiac too. New radiohead always makes me so excited. They have such a diverse sound and never fail to impress.
