Oh Stars, yes, I got back into them after meeting someone who asked me if I liked them. Always staying emo. Forever and always.

I love it when there are people in my city who have really similar music tastes to me. Kudos to you, Anna :)

haha yeah, i'm kidding. it doesn't matter. and yeah! the 7" is really really rad and beautifully done. even the record itself looks like they did something to it to make it shiny-er and more rad. I don't know. It's originally from the UK so whatever they do over there to make it snazzy, they did a great job.

Pshhh, songs from the road is a record label, we released william bonney. the 7" you ordered is from our distro, though. I gotta make it to the post office one of these days, you're killing me.

Just sent you a massive message with a bunch of bands to download. Included Sed Non Satiata and Snoras, along with some other stuff you may or may not dig/already have - Daitro, Raein, Ampere, Suis La Lune, all awesome foreign screamo bands. Also, a collection of music from Throatruiner, which puts out consistently awesome stuff, I saw Birds in Row with Loma Prieta, definitely get their record. Also, at the top is pretty much every emo record put out in the 80s and 90s...overkill, maybe, but it's a tremendous resource. I love it. I love The Khayembii Communique, even though I don't have any plays (friend burned their stuff onto a CD, haven't gotten to ripping it), haven't listened to The Spirit of Versailles and haven't even heard of Don Martin 3 though. Will definitely take a look. I've actually been wanting to start my own project, kinda more of an online collab with friends since no one in SC likes this type of music. Like Have a Nice Life, Snowing and Brand New thrown together.

Great taste in TV as well, I see. And yeah, Jedidiah isn't terribly common either I guess, heh. Oooh, dl'ing Weightless right now based off of that first song I listened to. Very AF/TTNG feel to em, and the album artwork is quite nice as well. For screamo? One of my favorites now is Snoras, I seriously never get tired of them. It's just one guy in Norway doing everything, but man...their stuff can be tougher to find sometimes, so I'll send you a link if you like it. Besides them? Sed Non Satiata errs on the more emo side of things, great jams from France. Neil Perry broke up almost a decade back, but I saw you hadn't listened to them, and they're easily one of my favorites of all time. Suffix and Lord Snow both have Anne Lacy, Suffix being my preference. Both great bands with a great screamer. Loma Prieta is one of the more popular bands in the genre, and it's extremely well deserved. City of Caterpillar released only one album, and it was a while back, but they're great too.

On a completely unrelated-to-music and probably unwanted note, you're only the second person I've actually...talked to? Not the word I'm looking for, but it'll do. The only person I've talked to that has the name Annaliese. The only other is my most recent ex. Fun and useless fact, I know. Great taste in music, though. Seems like you're a fan of midwest emo and the twinkly daddies both, just from a quick glance at your page. Shameless plug, but if you haven't listened, you should check out my friend's band Old Gray, they're definitely in that same music vein. If you're more into screamo, I'll throw out a few other unwanted friend's music recs too, heh.

That show isn't actually too far from Hull, about an hour north. Sadly I'm back home for summer now, so I'd take some time to get to. That said, I've nothing better to do, so it's not impossible. I'll certainly try to get there if I've the time/money. That sounds like a great trip. I have a friend in Chicago who told me I HAD to ride the ferris wheel on the pier if I ever went. You'll love New York too, I'm sure. Are you staying with friends again, as you did across Europe?

I'm glad. I find The Wasteland incredibly poignant. I'm pleased you have such a definite plan for life after University; you'll not be surprised to find I haven't decided what I want to do after my degree. In honesty though, I just enjoy learning. Maybe I'll carry on and take a masters degree. I guess I'll see. Hull is nice enough. It's about two hours away from Birmingham. I haven't much to say about the city, it's rather flat, grey, and much like any other English city. The surrounding area is rather nice though, and I often go for walks and cycle rides around the place.

I am envious. Such a dream is...well...only a dream for me. Maybe one day I will dream that I would have such a dream. Would that count?

I really think the music added something to that moment. Naturally, I have you to thank for that. I don't know quite why that memory sticks with me as something highly significant, nor why the music felt so fitting. Have you read 'The Wasteland' by T.S Eliot? The line: "In the mountains, there you feel free" seems to summarize everything. I'd certainly welcome another of your mixtapes, yours is the best I've ever received. That's interesting. What do you hope to go on and do with your degree? I'm at University, yes, studying Politics and Philosophy in a small northern city named Hull. I'm enjoying myself a lot. I feel like I've finally taken a step forward in my life (I hope I'm not being too melodramatic). That's great. I'm envious of how much of the world you've seen. I wish I'd been a little bolder and done something similar to your trip a few years ago. Alas, I've still time. Where are you hoping to visit in America this year? Have you been to American before?

Hello Anna. Likewise, I hope life is treating you kindly. What are you doing these days? (I apologize profusely for such a broad and uncomfortable question). I don't think I ever told you about the time I sat here whilst listening to your mixtape. It's always been a memory I've looked back on with fondness; as one of the few moments where I've felt absolute calm and peace of mind. I think this was something I always meant to write about in the letter which, by all accounts, I really should have sent you by now. I really am sorry about that. It was rude of me to leave you without reply after you sent such a wonderful letter and tape. I promise, even if it takes until I'm 50 and dying, with arthritis and hip replacements, I shall endeavour to write and send my reply. For now, though, I'd just like to hear that you're well.

Yeah. Yeah he is. It's a shame I've given up on trying to plug artists I think are good on facebook, otherwise you would have heard of him in September - October last year. What you enjoying most? Setbacks is pretty good.

Hope you've been doing well lately! Despite the fact that it doesn't reflect in my charts (it's a long story but I've been listening to a lot of music via CDs over the past few months) I've actually been getting really into hip-hop lately which always inevitably makes me think of you. I had been listening to Dessa for a few months and enjoying her music, but then Sophie showed me the new Doomtree record and that sparked a brand new interest that hasn't ceased to continue blooming since: I've been listening to A Tribe Called Quest A LOT, as well as Doomtree/Dessa/P.O.S, Mos Def/Talib Kweli/Black Star/Reflection Eternal, and Grieves (who I admittedly heard of through visiting your page a while ago...). I love everything I've heard so far, and I can say with sincerity that this new interest in hip-hop has given me a fresh outlook on life that I'm absolutely thrilled to have. THANK YOU FOR BEING A TRUE INSPIRATION IN MY LIFE, ANNA. <3

I think he's a good artist, albeit a bit gimmicky (As I said). But that's not necessarily a bad thing, I think gimmicky artists are often a victim of overexposure that goes on to nerf their shelf life very quickly, very hard. See: Odd Future, J.Cole etc.

He's okay. a bit gimmicky for my taste. But I can see the appeal. Someone likes Freaks And Geeks, though. A dude did it at Hip Hop Karaoke a few weeks ago. Weeeeird.
