Amazing music taste, love love love all the artists you enjoy. Saw Steven's raven tour and it was epic, best show I've been to so far the band was on fire that night.

My my, I am liking the Moongarden! I think I've jumped in at a different album from the one you were playing; still sounds like something new and pleasing, though. A little like the electronically-tweaked rock I already enjoy - which is why it caught my ear in the first place - but.. bigger. :)

Your latest listenings suggest you're working through the prog encyclopedia alphabetically - No-Man, North Atlantic Oscillation, Nosound .... next stop Nunbient or Oaksenham I reckon!?!?

Hi, really an interesting self description. Your musical taste is kind of special, but take as a gift. There's so much more that's off the beaten track. Travel on. BTW, found you because you have been listening to one small song of mine. thanks st64

I would've said "hi" at Summer's End yesterday but I don't have a clear picture of what you look like and there were several 20-something gals there so I couldn't be sure which was you. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it - assuming you came. My standout acts from the weekend were Phideaux and The Watch on Sunday (both 10/10); Haken, Agents of Mercy and Karmakanic on Saturday (all 9/10). Disappointed with Sylvan (especially the lead vocalist - bad throat) who could/should've been so much better. Question now is which gig to do next? Somewhere at The Assembly, Leamington as its my nearest venue - Marillion, The Enid, Gazpacho, Think Floyd. Hmmm, I'll dwell on this one I think.

I have to say you have a rather fine taste in Prog - I rate highly just about everyone in your Top Artists list. What's been your best "find" in recent weeks? Mine has been Dredg and their fabbo 2nd album, "El Cielo" (The Sky).

I just love Posthumous Silence - its a very coherent album which just flows seamlessly and packed with emotion and angst. I was gutted when Sylvan had to pull out of Summer's End 2009 but I saw them play support for Pendragon at their annual "Christmad" show at The Assembly in Leamington Spa. If you've not seen them live, you're in for a treat at Lydney - assuming you can make it.

Reading your profile takes me waaaay back to when I first "discovered" prog --- to say life changing is not to hype the facts. And the brill news is that prog is alive and on the up again today (yeehaw!!) with some standouts bands. For what its worth I'll give you one personal recommendation, the band who IO believe is the most original of the lot and has been since '91 - ECHOLYN. Next album due out (hehehe, if one could only guess these things) in 2011. Try The End Is Beautiful as a start point, but there's more, much more in their catalogue including the outrageously beautiful and haunting Mei - all 46 minutes of it in a single track. And, as a poet, for surely you must be judging by your profile, you'll love their lyrics too. Let me know if / when / whether you listen to them and let me know your reaction. 8-))

HI Nef - just saw your post from June re Summer's End (in Gloucestershire, 8-10 Oct). I've been 4 times now and it just gets better each year. Absolutely essential and as this year is the most international yet with bands from USA, Sweden, Italy and ---get this-- Australia(!!) there'll be a chance to see some bands possibly for the first & last time in UK. Cheers, Johnny

It was great indeed. We went to gigs in Krakow and Katowice, I met a couple of my lastfm friends there. We spoke to Piotr Grudzinski at length before and after the Katowice gig, and it was nice when when we went to watch them at Wolverhampton the following month that he recognised us and came over to talk to us again :) Never did get time to watch that DVD. Tonight after work maybe...

I ordered the CD/DVD set along with the new album, I previously only had mp3's from emusic, and they could even get the album title right! Hopefully I'll get chance to watch it over the weekend :) I have a dilemma re the Marillion Weekend. I'm already going to the main one in Holland, and I'm also hoping to go back to Poland next year if Riverside happen to be playing there. So it's one or the other unless I either a) win the lottery, or b) find a rich wife who likes Marillion and Riverside!

Excellent! I read on Marillion's forum their set went well. New Gazpacho landed on my doormat 2 days ago, I've been struggling with it if I'm honest, but it finally clicked tonight whilst ironing! make of that what you will :P Did they play much from the new album?

Not too bad overall then, It cost me a similar amount just to do Sunday at High Voltage in July

I've only been abroad to watch bands twice myself, it's definitely a pleasant change from the norm, if a tad expensive!

Last I heard there'll be plenty of older material that hasn't had an airing for a number of years, since they played live as a four piece band (before my time as a fan) We're in for a 3 hour set I believe so I'll be astounded if I don't enjoy it. My friend is coming over from Arizona and she has the tickets :) I saw Buying New Soul live the very first time I saw them in September 2006, it was the only track (apart from the FoaBP stuff which was being previewed) that I didn't recognise as I didn't have, and had never heard Recordings at that point. I won't be buying the re-issue, I paid over the odds for one of the originals on ebay about 3 years ago and it's exactly the same. If there was anything extra or even if it had just been remastered I'd part with the cash again. My PT obsession has become an expensive hobby over the past 5 years!!

Hi there, excellent taste in music! The opening line of your about me section made me laugh!! Then I read further and saw you've seen Stars Die live and that made me hate you :) I'm hoping to see it at The Albert Hall in October, fingers crossed!

Hey, just wanted to thank you for friending me last year. From time to time I raid my friends charts for new artist and from you I found Mew (my second most listened to artist for the past year) and Gazpacho which I had previously (stupidly) dismissed (7th from past year). So thanks for that, needless to say you have great taste in music!

I've just noticed your message. After 3 and a half years somehow I'm still a bit of last.fm novice since I managed not to notice for days. I need training in the ways of this technological age!

You look like an awesome person. Great taste, great description, you're from the UK (I'm quite an Anglophile) and good to see I'm not the only female prog fan out there.
