Your avatar made me think of it. And she was an incredible pioneer in her day. I've read that there's a documentary about her in the making but no sign of it appearing yet.

Stop me if I've asked this before, but do you know the photography of Madame Yevonde? http://www.users.waitrose.com/~felice/godessgallery.htm I think you'll like it.

At one point in my life I think I thought Saint Julian was in fact God or something. Way hey, Huur-Huur-Tu (got me digging them out), Incredible String Band, between them they have the Two Best Album Titles Ever Vol 1 (60 Horses in My Herd and The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter), and Nico! Her version of These Days is better than the original. Ever seen The Royal Tenenbaums. Great scene with it on. Gotta do work....

Hi. Liked your profile as it's funny, of course, and i went thru similar. Missed the 80's and most of the 90's coz i was (deemed) an alternative, outdoor geezer. And, even now, having my head in the clouds most of the time i'm never quite a jour with the current music scene. Bit miffed i missed the madchester scene tho. On my doorstep, and i was out planting trees and picking mushrooms, or something. Take care, lucypud

Oh I've got a host of bad memories from the 80's...... remember those shirts that had flared arms? And Snoods- what the hell were they about?

God, at last somebody else who doesn't want to listen to the over-produced, silverkrin covered decade from hades. I could punch Kajagoogoo. Everyone my age usually has a "soft spot" for the Eighties but it went 78,79,90 far as i'm concerned with a few exceptions. Anyway, rant over, - nice bloomin library young lady!

Aren't The Bees great? They did a number at the Barbican's Syd Barrett tribute a couple of years back (Octopus if I remember correctly) and they nailed it brilliantly. Would love to see them play their own stuff.
